well it seems like it's basically a re-run of last year, I was hoping to expand to 16 with no byes in the first round.

Their schedule is garbage this year. Their toughest games will be home against Miami, and at BYU. This scenario is hot garbage, if it was in place this year, Miami would have been left out.Just make sure Notre Dame is ranked no higher than 13
still one highest rated G5 school. So are the auto bids for only the P4? Or does the highest ranked G6 conference champ get an auto bid as well still?

Sixteen would be much better than 12, but 24 is the right number, which is why the BIG has proposed it. With 24 teams, FBS would finally be in line with every other division in college football in terms of the percentage of teams who make the playoffs. Twelve is far too few. Look at all the teams who were left out this year who were deserving of a chance to prove themselves. With a 24-team field you'd have included, among others, the Fainting Irish (look it up), Texas, Vanderbilt and, yes, Iowa.Continued standoff between BIG and SEC...no compromise in sight?
Petiti needs to have a presser laying out exactly what the BIG plan would be and why?
Fans do count in this equation since they foot the bill for everybody.
16 is the logical number... c'mon!
Convince us,Tony!
Not a chance. The SEC is a legend in its own mind, and that's about it. The mighty ones were 4-10 in the bowl season this year, tied with the Mountain West for the best losing percentage. LOLLOL maybe the SEC is hoping they can actually win one next year
Exactly. It ain't difficult.Just make sure Notre Dame is ranked no higher than 13
What pisses me off even more is that the idiots in the media will place ND no worse than 15 in the preseason poll. They could have UMass' roster and they'd still be ranked in the top 25. Combine that with an easy schedule and they are basically a lock for the playoff.Their schedule is garbage this year. Their toughest games will be home against Miami, and at BYU. I have a feeling their schedule outside of the ACC is going to begin to drop off. If you are in a P4, there is zero reason to schedule ND. I'll be interested to see if Auburn keeps them on their schedule next year. What pisses me off even more is that the idiots in the media will place ND no worse than 15 in the preseason poll. I hate the preseason poll but that's another discussion.

What is exactly the SEC's argument against 24 teams? They afraid they will get exposed even more or somehow lose even more recruiting advantages?Sixteen would be much better than 12, but 24 is the right number, which is why the BIG has proposed it. The SEC can go to helll.
Well, Miami would have been left out of the 12 team playoff this year if the current rules were in place. SooooGood! Twelve is plenty. If they go to 16, then that needs to be the cap. No team passed the top 12 would make the title game, that would be a fluke. Except for Iowa, of course!![]()
I would go for that. Sick of Michael Irvin and Ray Lewis sideline shotsWell, Miami would have been left out of the 12 team playoff this year if the current rules were in place. Soooo
?? You mean the current rules that were just changed? The BS rule for Notre Lame is crap. Especially since they lost head to head.Well, Miami would have been left out of the 12 team playoff this year if the current rules were in place. Soooo
