at the start of the Season 99% of Iowa Fans would take the W/L results so far, Split Michigan OSU and have a chance to go beat Washington and have a bye week sitting 5-1, This Washington game is the lynch pin for the rest of the Season, and that is all with meh QB play , bad OL play in the running game and a Defense that has regressed .

FIFY... Washington is a mediocre P5 team, so let's hope recent trends hold.
Tough to tell how good Washington is. They lost to Minnesota, but the Goophs went on to beat Michigan. They played USC within 4 @ USC. This may be their "time to prove it" game. No doubt they're chomping at the bit to get Iowa fresh off its first loss on a short week @ home.

They're mediocre. They also struggled to beat terrible Utah St and Washington St teams at home. Iowa needs to win this game if they're looking to put together a good season.

Going undefeated the rest of the way means a great season after 12 games. Wash isnt great, probably not a solid complete team but their QB and defense against the run can win games. Iowa can win there last 4 games as they have beaten these old Big 10 west teams a majority of the time but there is always a game where your odds run out.

I expect the hawks to be 5-1 on the last 6 so this Wash game is important. We will all discuss this come Friday night and Saturday

It feels strange that the SEC schools are rated so high. I know the conference strengths will come out in the end. Could it be that that due the rankings so,high that they are padding there criteria for home field advantage for Playoff byes and home games. I wouldn’t think Alabama or Georgia would want to come up and play Ohio State at home in December. It would not be a fun game to play in. I would think a northern team would have an advantage in the cold weather over a southern team.they want to end the three year rout.

Here's the crazy thing though, because for Iowa its damned if you do, and damned if you don't. To begin the season most here and in the media said the back half of our schedule was a cake walk with all the old west teams. Now having played 5 games many of those teams look better then most expected. Still even if we sweep those games the narrative will be that its just the old B1G west teams and we didn't do anything regardless of how those teams played out their seasons or who they beat. At this point it looks like a tougher schedule playing many of them, then PSU, Maryland, or Rutgers.

Or MSU for that matter.

If Hank or Heck are QBs next year we aren't making playoff. Let's hope Bessinger can live up to his recruiting ranking
We have Michigan, USC, Indiana, and Oregon next year. This isn't even discussing the potential NFL exits/transfers. I am not sure it matters who the QB is, we aren't likely to make the playoffs in 2027
