So basically continued non news.
And every other conference wants 24. Espn and the sec are alone on an island with 16 or 20 if u include this proposal.

And then it'll be 20 teams or so, and so on.
Any more expansion and you have to end the conference championship games. They are already pretty meaningless.
Yeah, its really lost a lot of meaning, unless you need the win to get into the playoffs.
Those conference championship games are great tv but cause a lot of playoff complexity. Watching Alabama vs Georgia and Ohio State vs Indiana was much better than watching James Madision vs Oregon and Tulane vs Ole Miss. If expanding the playoffs just add those type games, I would much rather keep the conference championship games.
This is stupid. Football is not like basketball. Football upsets are extremely rare. Who wants to see North Texas get bulldozed by LSU? 12 teams at the absolute max. 8 was the perfect number.
On average there will probably only be four or five teams that have a legit change of winning each year. I'd prefer eight teams.
But it will probably end up being 24 or something ridiculous. I suppose at least that way, UK might be able to sneak in from time to time.

UK gets n way more on 24 teams vs 12 or 16.
Not sure why some of our fans seem against that.
I think 16 is perfect if they insist on expanding which because of money, you know they will. I just don’t want them to keep adding teams as the years go on. 24 teams is way too much. Makes the season dang near meaningless.
This is AWFUL. All the teams you watch hoping they'll lose and miss out will get in anyway. There's no reason to watch the regular season.

Does anybody remember the original purpose of bowl games? Bowl games were designed to get people to travel during the holidays. Then somebody in the media thought we should get a national champion. That’s what started us down this snowballs path that’s going to end at the bottom of a huge mess.
Andy and Dudahuk have pages and pages of saying "Y'all" and “Yup” (before Andy gets banned) and have posted within minutes of each other in the same thread often. I'm sure that will all change now, lol.. You've done a woeful job of throwing the dogs off of the trail, IMO.

Isn't the point of sports to have a champion?
College football has been an archaic type of a sport in that regard forever. It took til 2014 to get a somewhat playoff with 4 teams.
The bowl games are boring glorified exhibitions and have been for a while. That predates 2014 as well.

So long as it expands without some silly mid-major or ACC and B12 requirements.
Last year there were a few big mega brands left out that I think would’ve provided a couple more competitive games.
Also, have said many times, that their biggest issue is the length of CFB postseason. All the other bowls are the issue. Move those to right about now.
Summer dead season for sports. Decent football games between comparable teams that don’t generally play one another would rack up ratings.
Bowl venues would do a bit better as well too.

Pro sports have extended their playoffs. Why wouldn't college football? It was going to happen eventually.
