we should recruit more guys that are Defensive Player of the Year in their middling conference and bring them to RU to be a step behind on D and get stuffed by the rim going into triple coverage when they ball hog driving to the hoop.

There is something to the idea that if the center position is overvalued, explore a system that isn't as reliant on a shot blocking center.

If anyone is able to adjust and adapt on the defensive side, I would imagine HC Pike is able to do it.

He can't really use the excuse "Oh well we tried but got priced out. We didn't really have a plan B" again after using it last year.

But considering our very limited resources, a readily actionable Plan B needs to always be ready.
And unfortunately for us, Plan B (and Plan C) are going to be needed more often than peers with vastly more resources.

You clearly state that we have little NIL so why are you expecting any portal action now on a big man? Once the top tier guys are gone then RU will have a crack at the clearance rack.

The HS kid is not being looked at as a starter. He would be the 2nd or 3rd option.
