lol, as I read this, Dallas is on defense; a New York receiver is injured on the New York sideline, and Lamb walked 53 yards (at least) across the field to check on him.

As he made his way into the end zone, Lamb took his time, backpedaled into the end zone, and made eye contact with Giants DB Deonte Banks before tossing the ball in his direction. Apparently, the officials felt the ball was thrown at Banks, resulting in Lamb being flagged for unsportsmanlike conduct.

From the replay, it was a low to medium speed underhand toss, how close it got to the defender I can't tell from the replay, not that it mattered in this particular situation. I figured the ref overhead him saying something. Compared to other celebrations, what he did (slowing down, back peddling) was certainly not over the top.

I definitely thought it was enough of a throw in the direction of an opponent to warrant a flag.

He didn't throw the ball at him. He tossed it in his general direction. It probably landed about halfway between the two of them. I've seen much worse. Personally, I had rather them score and act like they've done it before and drop all the showboating. But if you don't want someone taunting you, don't let them score.
