I used to think AR's problems stemmed from a lack of coordination or not maintaining eye contact with the rim throughout the shot, but now I wonder if she's focusing too much on "Me" and the moment, rather than just the play at hand. She even talked about overthinking too many times.
Yes, her "brain" gets in the way of a lot of things..........

whynot?

Ahhh, ESPN, the same organization that employs “reporters” who stated CC should be benched for Raven, and another who said she wasn’t a top 4 guard in the league.

Those 3 bitches really struggle to compliment CC’s game without a follow up dig…it’s every game. But yesterday, when AR herself she was playing like **** at half, McNutt was praising her 3/10 performance like she was Kevin Garnett. They are the worst in studio analysts I’ve ever heard and there’s no close 2nd. You can’t deny the bias.
Mcnutt is a racist hack, everyone knows it , her employer doesn’t challenge her because it’s Disney/ABC, the most woke company in America.

I've watched basketball for a looong time, but I don't know if I've ever noticed defense being played like I've seen in the W.

With the Fever you'll see Caitlin, or Sophie, or Lexie, or Kelsey ... defending on the perimeter with their backs toward the opposite sideline. If you're defending someone without the ball shouldn't your back generally be towards the baseline so you can always see the ball and your player??? I think it was Sophie recently who gave up a straight-line drive to the hoop defending out of position like this.

I don't get it, am I missing something? 🤔

You're right. "Coach" talks about that all the time. Back to the baseline so you can see ball and man, ready to slide your feet. During a recent broadcast, Lobo actually praised a defender whose back was to the sideline. That player gave up a drive to the basket, if I recall correctly. SMH.

Golden St is beating Dallas 44-28 at half

They've got Paige locked up. She's 1/7 (2 points) 1 reb, 1 assist snd 3 turnovers.

The Valkaries play some defense. They always seem to make it hard on the Fever....

No it didn't. It evened the series at 2-2. Not sure what the other tie breakers would be. If its points/GM Indy will be hard to beat....
This is what I referred to. You're right, the series is tied. Like you, I'm not sure either how they figure this up.

4. Indiana Fever (23-12) ⬆️

  • Last Week: 5
  • This Week: Tue. at TOR, Thu. at DAL, Sat. at NYL, Sun. at CHI
Indiana’s win in Atlanta on Sunday prevented the Dream from securing the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Fever. This week, the tables turn, as Indiana has two chances to lock up head-to-head tiebreakers — Thursday in Dallas (series is tied 1-1, winner takes series) and Saturday in New York (Fever lead the series 2-1 ahead of final matchup of season). The Fever, who have won four straight and nine of their last 11, can bolster their playoff position with wins in these key games.

Good info on upcoming games. Everyone of these games will matter for seeding....

What I could find.

Teams are seeded No. 1 through No. 8 based on regular-season record.

What if there are tiebreakers?

The first playoff tiebreaker is decided by comparing the head-to-head record among tied teams. The team with the better record against the other tied team gets the advantage.

If two teams are still tied, the team with the better winning percentage against all teams that finished the season with a .500 or better record gets the higher seed..

Still a tie? The point differential in head-to-head games decides the edge.

If more than two teams are tied, then as many teams will be eliminated at each step. As soon as one or more teams are eliminated at any step, the process must begin again from the first step, according to the WNBA.

It depends on where the ball is.

I have been hoping the fever could catch LV and secure the 3rd seed to avoid the lynx til finals but maybe 4th seed is better to avoid GS til finals?

I have to still assume minny is the worst matchup for anyone in the wnba.

Help defense is pretty simple, but it's amazing how badly it's played and coached at this level.

Generally the further the ball is from who you are guarding, the further off you play from your girl. Open up and see ball AND your girl you are defending.

Turn your back on either the ball or your girl.... You deserve to get BURNED.

Obviously, you can have different situations/assignments, like girls guarding CC and not helping off much. But the general concept should be the same, but you see terrible execution EVERY game.

LV matches up against Indiana better than anyone else. Their defense can mostly lock down the guard play and the lack of anything after AB in the post has killed Indy.

We don't know enough about the matchup with Minny yet and won't until the last two games of the season.

I'd much rather play Vegas than Golden St or Minnesota.

I like CC/KM's matchup vs Grey and Young over Burton/Williams and Miles/McBride.

Boston is probably the closest thing to an A'ja stopper in the W.

Vegas also has worse role players than Indiana does.

The Canadian media is full of CC today on her first ever visit to Canada. Interesting Clark summary by CBC and comparison to MJ's first visit to Toronto by the Toronto Star.

4th seed means Atlanta and more Angel Reese bullsh** drama.

No thanks.

Tell Las Vegas or Golden State to tank and f*** off.

You're not. There are some TERRIBLE fundamentals in the W. Lack of box outs. Stepping on the sidelines. Close outs are atrocious. Help defense from the backside guards is almost non existent, including dropping on the backside for rebounds.

For all the mind-numbing things that come out of their coaches' mouths non-sports related, unfortunately the two best coached teams in the WNBA are Minnesota and Golden State, who are 1 and 2 right now.
Golden State's coach had no idea how to coach Megan Gustafson to her strengths, I will say that. Defensively she is teaching the team pretty well. Not to be obvious.

It won't be easy for the Fever to pass Vegas for 3rd place. After today's game vs the Dream at home, Vegas's final seven games are all against the bottom five teams. Blowing that game a couple weeks ago cost the Fever two games to Vegas in the standings. Instead of being 0.5 games behind them, they'd be 1.5 ahead.

The Fever may end up playing the Dream in the first round again, which is a tough matchup, but hopefully they can hold onto 4h place and get home court advantage.
