And Mitchell
And Mitchell
Personally, I'd say she's a great player, but pointing out that she takes too many crazy shots in the lane against multiple bigs, and that at times she just puts head down and will take on three or four defenders and not even look for the open player is both factual, and worth mentioning.

@Ludd must not have watched the game. He’s always all over her. Besides not getting much from the 3rd guard spot (as usual) Timpson has more than made up for it. She was great. CC kept her composure the whole game, played within herself and was the best player on the floor. Against a very very good defender in Howard.
I'll give White and her staff credit for that. moving Timpson into the starting lineup has changed the trajectory of this team.

Angel is an absolute beast on the boards. Best rebounder in the league, may go down as the best rebounder ever in the history of the WNBA. Just has a nose for the ball and fights for it.

That said, she's easily the most unskilled offensive player I've ever seen in the WNBA. Her outside shooting form looks like it would be physically painful. And her shooting game in the lane and at the rim is legit laughable.

Can't be. I was told she's a " skilled basketball" player

That should fix things. I wonder what retired crap official they'll get to run that....

I'd say Gray was the star.....
Gray and Rhyne are both great but very inconsistent. Either one of them can be the best player on the Dream any given night. Angel is almost always the 2nd best player because although her shooting % is bad, she’s very consistent with her 5-15/12 rebound games.

if Gray and Howard can figure it out on the same night for a 7 game series they would be insane.

I think you should be able to critique any player but that's not how it works around these parts.

Saw this on Twitter but ever since Caitlin picked up her 7th technical (one away from the automatic 1 game suspension) she's averaging 25.2 ppg and 9.6 assists while shooting 50% from the field and 40% from 3.

She just looks totally in control right now. The beginning of the season whether it was rust from being out most of last season, then the back injury and lack of minutes she did not look like the same player. And they were really struggling as a team. And also her and White didn't seem to be on the same page, though I don't know that to be really true though it just could have been frustration by both of them. Being down 7 or whatever in the 4th qtr yesterday they never seemed out of it. And again, CC kept her composure against a very tough defensive team and just kept making the right play time after time.

Maybe the residue of her having to be fully in control of her emotions is her making the most of her talents...

She could average 26/5/10 and the W voters would have her 4th.
I don't think so. Maybe 2nd depending on the season A'ja has. Currently A'ja is at 26.1/9.6/2blocks per game.

If Clark is at 26ppg it means her FG& is likely closer to 48%, which would negate the biggest argument people have against her outside of turnovers.

I think a 26/5/10 season would get her MVP.

I don't know the last time I've seen her do the exaggerated head jerk she had "developed" at the start of the season. I truly think that was part of the reason for her early struggles. She was so focused on embellishing contact that she got in her own head and as a result was paying more too much attention to the refs than the actual game itself.

It has nothing to do with her stats and ability, rather the voters/media not giving her the respect she has earned.

As I’ve said, give me a more versatile Center in the league besides Aja Wilson. Has basically played the whole season until White inserted Timpson into the lineup as the only legitimate big on the entire team. She’s averaging 17-8 and is also a very willing passer. Best days are still ahead of her.
It's possible i overreacted.. but good God are bunnies and layups too much to ask. 1.5 million a year... : (

Aja is one of the elite offensive players and elite defensive players in the league.. so it should be hard to give it to someone else unless her skills start to erode. but voter fatigue in sports is real, so you never know what may happen.

Let me know when they do…I’ll wait.
Can we quit with the conspiracy theory victimhood of Caitlin Clark? There is no WNBA shadow entity conspiring against her.

She's the WNBA ROTY given to her by the WNBA. She's a 3x WNBA All Star given to her by the WNBA. She was 1st team All WNBA in 2024 given to her by the WNBA.

Even in hypotheticals where we pretend she has insane stats people act like victims.

Again, I don't think so. I think some people on this board are a little sensitive to her being criticized.

If you have taken a look at W reporters on social media, and the women covering the game on ESPN yesterday, you’ve seen the talk has been the play of Gray, Reese, Timpson, and Mitchell.

You’d have to have your head buried pretty deep in the sand to not notice they shy away from giving CC the credit she deserves.

She’s the clear number two in the race this year, and many haven’t mentioned her in the top 5. It’s embarrassingly comical.

I just googled WNBA MVP race and I see her in several including ESPN from 12 days ago and USA Today from 4 days ago

All she has is a turn around jumper and can hit a 3 every now and then. :ROFLMAO:
