But she can play 200 mph and shoot unconsciously.......most of the time.
KM and CC are very good complementary players.
Mitchell is fast, has good handles, can put pressure on the defense, can shoot well (when she's shooting well), and plays very good defense, especially given her diminutive stature. Her three-point shooting has been very good this year and her midrange jumper has always been considerably better and more consistent than CC's. Oh, and don't discount the sneaky value of her being left-handed in a league that is 90-ish percent righties.
Clark has good handles (giving them two legit point guards, which is huge in this league), can shoot (and make) from virtally anywhere which forces the D to play well beyond the arc, is beginning to much more fully value going to the hole and playing through contact, and is, perhaps most importantly, an otherworldly passer. The value of that is almost incalculable because when she's shooting well the D can't sag even a little bit (#thatswhatshesaid), opening up the lane for others to be on the receiving end of said passes. And when her shot's a little off, she's still deadly dangerous to the opposition by using her passing skills to manufacture points that others simply cannot match (fastest ever to 200 assists).
You know you're one of the greats in the sport when people claim 17 points and 7 assists in only 26 minutes on the court while still getting healthy from a back injury constitutes a "terrible performance". In a weird sort of way, that's actually a compliment.
