She was VERY much in control tonight, even when the calls didn't go her way. If she were to play like that every night. she's a top 3-5 player in the league. Of course we weren't talking about tonight earlier were we......
Only thing I'd point out is that she absolutely makes business decisions when it comes to defense, mainly to avoid cheap fouls, sure, especially in the 1st half.........but that narrative about her defense isn't going away any time soon.
Lots of times where she opens her hips and allows the driver to get the corner turned, sometimes expecting help and other times absolutely conceding the points simply to avoid picking up cheap contact fouls.
It's a double edged sword. She could move her feet better and cut off the initial dribbles to widen the drive attempts, and maybe not get beat as much......but she also puts herself at the mercy of refs eager to make a point.
