Stephanie wants to play Rugby, at least most of the time. Still don’t think it’s the best style and for CC and this roster. But they played D and rebounded with a lot of energy tonight.

CC needs to shoot less 3s and increase her efficiency, especially with this style of play.
That’s not true. She also knows if they’re going to win a championship they can’t play matador defense like they’ve been playing. All credit to CC tonight for her defensive effort. One of the best I’ve ever seen her play. Now while that might take away a little from her offense she has to bring that all the time. She was really really good on both ends tonight. I know she’s still not hitting the long 3’s like we’re used to but she totally controlled the game. And the pace more importantly. Ran when she needed to and slowed down as needed.

I noticed the improvement on defense as well. Got her feet set, in a crouch, and moved well to stay with the player. Still needs work, but much improvement.

Clark is now 6-1 head-to-head against Reese since the finger wag.

That pass to Kelsey on the inbound was filthy.

CC makes the players around her better at a level PB and (obviously) AR don't even come close.
"Head always up the floor" is key. She sees how things are developing, and if her teammates keep moving and getting to spots, she can generally find them or create her own shot.

I'd be careful with the "not even close" stuff.

CC is a great passer. And her gravity on the court, alone, makes life easier for her mates on offense.

But quite often, she makes life hell for her teammates, on D.

Jacking up 30 ft misses also makes life very difficult for her teammates.

PB is one hell of a team player. She sets her teammates up. Is obviously more defensively friendly. And her ability to get her own, late clock, makes life so much easier for her mates.

PB's mates also seem to naturally gravitate towards/accept her leadership. She's emotionally steady, and has a natural winning confidence.

No doubt, overall, both players make their mates a lot better

PB is a great player and does some things better than CC, but she's nowhere near the floor general CC is.

Again, I'd be careful with the "nowhere near".

I happen to lean towards PB, as the player I prefer, overall. And a "floor general" is pretty much what I'd call her. She just always makes winning plays at key moments.

But while we're talking floor generals that make their teammates better; again, Olivia Miles is just outstanding. 8 3pters and 7 assists tonight, in a victory vs GS, who is probably the best defensive team. 1 TO. 3 blocks!

Miles is really just a surgeon. And already looks like one of the best PG's the women's game has ever seen.

I'd love to know what the hell happened in that Notre Dame locker room two seasons ago. Miles, Citron, and Hidalgo made up easily one of the best backcourts the college game has ever seen. But they could not buy a win down the stretch of that season

Oh, we know. Lol.

I'll take CC and sleep well knowing I have the best women's PG in the world.

For those who watched....

It appears the Lynx got a gem in Miles. They are 8-2 without Napheesa. Miles and Phee together will be tough to beat.
I was surprised she waited a year and went to TCU instead. Turned out well for her. NIL from TCU, a bigger contract from the CBA, and now she's killing it on the Lynx instead of Seattle or Washington.

She's always been a pretty amazing player. Agree, Minnesota will be a problem. Miles needs to prove she can do it consistently if/when she finds defenses focusing on stopping her. Before last night I think she was shooting like 2-19 and 11% from 3 pt range. Still a phenomenal performance last night though.

It's kinda bizarre to go from being a total non-factor from 3pt all season to then, out of nowhere, breaking CC's rookie record for threes in a game.

Cc is the best passer in the league and it's NOT EVEN CLOSE. Deal with it
