Thats fine AND yet this is not a Caitlin issue. Its rampant throughout the sport in college and the pros. (her last 7 years). I don't see how that's not relevant to your post. Its systematic in the sport at this point. Most of the players and many of the men as well complain after every call against them, AND when they don't get a call when they think they were fouled. Like everything else about CC22 she is over scrutinized and held to a different standard
no one said it's specific only to Caitlin.

You're reading way too much into this.

Ok. Frankly what IS the point of saying she's done that her whole career if its common place for most of the players to do that? That's the very definition of her being over scrutinized and held to a different standard, (if most of the players do that), which is what I said. Really, just nevermind. For whatever reason a couple of you guys have to stand opposed to everything I post, regardless of the content. Maybe you'd don't agree, and that's fine, but at least I'm not one of these dumb A---- that just does laughing emojis after posts, like that's constructively adding to the conversation....

Ah, the school marm. You think your only job here is to correct other peoples posts instead of actually adding something on your own. Maybe contact the owners of the board since you seen to want to just monitor what everyone else posts...

I guess I don't see how a game of 20 7 and 5 is struggling. Hell if she averages this for a season she'll be at least second team all WNBA. It's been one game man
I agree it's just one game and even at not 100% CC still makes amazing plays. She just doesn't seem as confident in her shot, especially 3 pointers. as she was before her injury. I look forward to the cocky CC making a return soon.

From the IndyStar....

INDIANAPOLIS — One of Stephanie White's biggest emphases this season was an improved defense. The Indiana Fever started a lot of training camp practices with defensive sets and brought in defensive-minded players, all in a hope to get the Fever to a top-3 defensive rating in 2026.

Oooooops SW it didn't work.

Not sure if that is possible but she definitely signed a player development contract.
Can developmental players be ungraded to active players during the season if there are injuries to regular players? The Fever had to replace several players during the season last year as many of their core players had injuries. If so, I could see this developmental level for Kate being a way for her to heal and be ready if one of the active team members sustains a serious injury.

The way I understand it, she would have to play in more than 12 games before they would have to offer a roster contract, but it's all a little unclear.

It was fairly evident that the Fever would pursue White back to Indiana once Sides was ousted. I hoped they would take a look at Phoenix HC Nate Tibbetts. What is your opinion of Tibbetts?

Thomas' MVP odds dropped from +2600 yesterday to +1400 today.

I like Tibbetts...he does a good job of finding a weak spot on an opposing team and constantly attacking it until the other team adjusts.

It’s entirely possible that I have this wrong. But if I understand correctly, a development player can be upgraded to a regular roster contract at any time. But once that happens, they cannot be placed back onto the development roster without first clearing waivers.

So, just as a hypothetical, if a Sparks player suffered an injury that was going to be week-to-week, Kate could be activated for up to 12 games while still on the development roster. But at any point after or before she has played 12 games they could go ahead and make Kate a full roster player if it looked like the player she was replacing wasn’t recovering as quickly as they expected. But once Kate is given a regular roster contract they cannot move her back to the development roster without risking another team claiming her. Although I think the Sparks would have the right to match that team’s offer.

Clear as mud, eh?

As someone who has been a staunch supporter of CC, I have to admit I cringed when I heard she walked out with Wallen. If nothing else it gives the people whose hatred toward her is based mostly on her skin color some legitimate gripes.

I was curious if the concert just happened to be in Indy on the same day or if it was part of the Fever’s opening day festivities. It looks like the concert was at Lucas Oil Stadium, so I assume her involvement was independent of her role with the team.

Here’s one peculiar thing I learned about Morgan Wallen’s walkout partners. Evidently it’s sort of a tradition where he has a local celebrity walk out with him at every show. And if you had given me 10 guesses who walked out with him last summer in Cleveland, I still would not have guessed Myles Garrett.

Yep, Kelce/ Mahomes did it in KC and Marshawn Lynch in Seattle. Wonder if they got the same blowback CC got

I think that’s reading too much into it. Doubt anyone really cared except for people who would’ve found something to gripe about anyway

Kate's first media "scrum" as a Spark. Amazingly always the consummate professional, even when she's emotional. Love all her responses. I hope this opportunity works out for her.

I'm not a big fan of the Sparks coach. But they have some great vets in Dearica, Nneka, Wheeler, and Plum. And some very good young players in Rae and Brink. I also think the very end of the bench is on the weak side so there may be room for her to work her way up.

The Fever's defense is non-existent. I've watched a couple of their pre-season games and also Saturday's opener with the same observation - they don't play defense. They'll win some games by outscoring teams but come playoff time they won't survive very long.

For all the glitz and glamour of Las Vegas and all the revenue that the team rakes in, that sign behind Kate that reads “LAS VEGAS ACES” looks like it could just as easily be advertising the monthly special at Arby’s.

I know a lot of huge Caitlin fans who have never griped about anything she has done who are shocked and understandably disappointed and upset by this.

Given all of the drama of the last few years, and how Iowa and Fever fans are perceived by many, this was a really bad idea by her.

Do you expect the LA Sparks to spend a lot of $$ on signage for a visiting team?

For some reason I was thinking the game was in Vegas. But either way this is the 21st century and the WNBA has vaulted headlong into the realm of big-time professional sports. So yes, when Hollywood squares off against Sin City I expect digital signage. Or neon. Or at least something that doesn’t look like it might have read “FRENCH DIP & SWISS” as recently as yesterday.

You obviously have not spent a lot of time in Vegas or LA.

It's a digital screen. A digital sign. In a loading dock area of an arena. I mean, there should be showgirls, but maybe a tough ask.
My bad. When I first watched the interview with Kate, the letters looked like the ones fast food places use where you use a pole to add or remove them.

But yeah, showgirls would be a nice addition.
