In 2022 the Fever were 5-31 - last place by 8 games. Boston arrived in 2023 and the Fever's record improved to 13-27. You are incorrect that Boston did not elevate her team and you are incorrect that the Fever finished in last place in 2023.

Comical that you ask me to support my opinion with reason and facts when you blatanly mistate facts to support your position - stats that anyone can easily look up.
You either can’t read or refuse to read. She elevated them to the worst team in the league. CC elevated them to the playoffs. Look ah her stats. Look at her defense. Look at the standings.

Go back and look how Hannah defended her in the FF. She struggles against athletic bigs.

As the president of her fan club you should know theee things..

The Fever were not the worst team in the league in 2023. In just pointed that out to you. And you tell me I can't read.

She helped the Fever nearly triple their win total in her rookie year.

Statistically speaking she's the best young big in the league.

Also I'd give a majority of the credit for AB's struggles to Iowa having 4 players in the paint the entire game rather than how Hannah defended her. Especially since Hannah only played 12 minutes.

You’re correct. 1st pick but not the worst team.

They did more than double their win total to at least be above the 2-3 worst teams. During her 2nd year.

I think KM and NH are gone next year. Not making a value judgment, but I don't think either are all-in with this team.

But -

Boston (age 23)
Caitlin (age 23)
Lexie (25)
Sophie (28) &
KK (22)

are a fabulous young core to build on.

Where do you think the upgrades need to happen? To elevate to an elite team? Or do you think it’s just a matter of growth and experience with that core

Timpson is going to be 20-25 minutes next year. Cunningham and Hull are excellent 3s. McDonald can back up point guard.

Need strong inside defender/rebounder - Dantas is not good enough. And, lockdown-defender guard that can shoot.

Draft - Serah Williams could be available. But, as a fit on and off the court, I'd love to see the Fever pick up Flau'jae Johnson.

You are so simpleminded. “3 all stars” as a justification for keeping the team in tact is about as shortsighted as they come. So what? That means nothing. When you’re basing your franchise decisions on the results of fan voting for all stars than you’re dumber than I thought.

AB is smart and likable. Which doesn’t absolve her from criticism. You don’t know bball. You make assertions without any rationale or perspective.

ABs stats YOY suggest she’s the same player. If you’ve watched you’ll notice she’s regressed defensively and can be exploited against more athletic centers/forwards. And she wasn’t particularly good defensively to begin with. I also don’t think she plays with a consistent edge necessary to overcome some of those limitations.

I think she’s a solid player. And has good chemistry with CC. But she didn’t elevate her team as a rookie. Even with another all star in KM. They were the worst team in the league.

If yuu have a different perspective or counterpoint that involves reason and analysis id love to hear it.

KM won’t be with the Fever next year so they will be able to afford to pay AB. But the Fever will need a dynamic 2 way interior interior player to join her.

it’s about a roster that with CC can compete with the elite teams.
Every time you’ve been asked about what you would do to make the team better you have no answer. They’ve gone from 5-31 in 2023 to 17-14 now and that’s without CC most of the year. So they are way better. If we had a healthy Caitlin this year they are arguably a top 3-4 team. Up there with Minnesota and New York quite yet? Clearly not. Those teams weren’t built overnight grasshopper. CC is a top 1-3 pt guard and will only get better. Boston right now is a top 3 Center in year 3. Mitchell is an elite scorer. Find me a trade for Boston that would make them better, sure. But that’s going to be really tough. Howard has been way way better than Smith but she’s on the downside of her career. They need an athletic 4 and another athletic wing. But the 2 girls you keep crying about are not the problem.

Flau'jae would be a perfect fit with CC. But I don't see her falling to the Fever.

the Fever have been really quiet in regards to when they expect CC to return.
Good. I and others were getting tired of hearing White say "Day to day" anyway. When Clark is close, I'm sure someone will announce it. Getting back to fully healthy is key.

From ESPN:

Mitchell, Cunningham and Hull are the team's sole remaining guards.

Who will the Fever look to sign?

It's not ideal to have to bring in a new player two-thirds of the way into the season, especially a point guard who would be tasked with running the offense. Even less ideal, the Fever are looking to make this move a mere hours after the trade deadline. But Indiana has no choice at this point.

There are some free agents who could be logical candidates: Jaylyn Sherrod was recently waived by the Liberty to make room for Emma Meesseman. Grace Berger, the Fever's 2023 No. 7 draft pick, is currently with the Wings on her third seven-day contract, and either has to be signed to a rest-of-season contract or be released, which could work in the Fever's favor.

Indiana could also seek to sign a more experienced guard, such as Odyssey Sims or Shey Peddy, both of whom last played in the league for the Sparks this past June.

What's the latest on when Caitlin Clark might return?

Clark has been limited to individual rehab and workouts and has yet to return to team activities. Even when that happens, she'd presumably need time to ramp up to full 5-on-5 play. So there's no indication that Clark's return is particularly imminent.

Do these injuries change Clark's timeline? There wasn't as much urgency for her to return just a few days ago, when Indiana was rolling as the winner of five straight games. But the team has also been adamant that Clark's long-term health is of utmost concern, so the organization might opt to ride the wave of McDonald's and Colson's absences and manage with the players they have available, including any new additions next week.

There are, and there have been, a lot of W stars injured. I wonder if a lot of it is due to their compressed schedule playing many games with one day of rest.
Correct.

The schedule is asinine and you couple that with the no-f***s given attitude of the refs and the excessively physical play that the old guard WNBA idiotically wants to be defined for and you get more and more players dealing with injuries and suffering season-ending injuries.

Is anyone else getting sick of assistant coach Briann January tailing Caitlin around grabbing and pushing her if CC gets too excited. Caitlin needs to tell January to keep her hands off her. I detest January.
