this thing is and was getting out of hand. it was from the beginning. I was listening to Whitlock. he thinks they hate her and want to trade her to LA but it's not happening quickly enough. or run her into the ground. he thinks it's an inside job. I dunno. I am a conspiracy theorist but why draft her then ruin her? part of me thinks she may have trouble wherever she goes, part of me thinks LA might be good. who knows. I am not a huge bball fan, men or women. but I think she is getting crapped upon.

Should have been a flagrant 1 IMO. Not surprised it got upgraded to a flagrant two. Also not surprised that people who thought the league were going to do nothing are now mad that they didn't go far enough with the one game suspension
Again, in these situations you must take into account the player involved. Thomas has a well earned rep as a thug enforcer. Research it.

The fist to the throat was the most egregious but it wasn't the most dangerous part of that play. That would be when AT intentionally drove her knee into CC's groin as she fell onto her. That same groin that was injured to the point it kept CC out most of last season.
it looked a little staged like an old school fake wrestling match. go to the top turnstile and jump on her!! get a metal chair and bash her across the back!! I am not saying it is fake, it looked pretty legit, looked like cc did not like it,but maybe planned or staged? wnba inside plans?but Caitlin Clark definitely jumped up and was walking. I think the "back injury" may have been fake. only the people in the locker room will know. announcers did not know.

This is insane. She's like half of the organization's value. If they were going to trade her, then trade her.

In this case, imo, it's occam's razor. The most logicial explanation is an incompetent FO and a coach that is trying to shove a square peg in a round hole.

when I first heard it I thought it was insane too. then I looked at it from the men's side. look at all the guys going to LA over the years. maybe. I dunno, if they end up trading her, and it is to LA, and she kicks arse.....he may be a genius.

THEY didn't draft her. Remember after her rookie year they cleaned house. Not only ALL the coaches but the entire front office is the old guard from when they won the title in 2012 I believe.

If they trade her she's going to Atlanta where her and Reese will team up to win 10 straight championships and they will go to the HOF where you cannot bring up one without the other.

whitlock also talks about the incompetent office and coaching staff at the fever. you guys may love or hate whitlock but he could be smart here. who knows. good thing I am not tasked with this responsibility. I would fire everyone and start over. they all stink.

To me it looked like AT saw CC on the floor with a loose ball and she saw her chance to try hurting her. Glad it didn't end up being serious but that knee to her groin could've ended very badly for CC.

I saw all that, but it looked like she was pulling her punch a little. it did not land. I did not see the groin I gotta go back and watch it. they did do a good job of looking like they were going for the ball and hiding it. that was obviously intentional. pre meditated assault. just did not land. I really don't fault the refs too much because they hid it then the ball kicked out and they were following the ball, still should have been a foul . they are blind.; refs are blind. it's an old joke.

1. Sign the biggest woman they can find to a developmental contract. No basketball skills needed. Say 6'3" 350 pounds.
2. Tell her to grab whoever is doing the cheap shoting in a bearhug and fall on her. Get ejected.
3. Do that until you are suspended or run out of games on your developmental contract
4. Sign a new one....rinse and repeat.

A mix of 2 "W's"...the WNBA and the WWE.

Apologies that I didn't fully remember a post from 2 weeks ago. I understand this is very serious to some of the people here.

I will remember that next time.
Don't be chiming in on things you know nothing about and finally realize what an idiot you are.

But isn’t the question whether the Sparks really are the best fit? Maybe, maybe not. Regardless, CC controls her own destiny after next year. Why would anyone trade for her at this point without some guarantee of her signing long term? Or is it worth the risk and both parties just take a year and see how it goes.

No it does NOT. This is where REAL leagues look at the player and their pattern of this type of behavior. Thomas is well known for this type of things many, many times. This just says, NO big deal.
What pisses me off is she got off easy, given her "History". So now, I guess we'll just have to wait a while before she does this again. SMFH.

They ain’t trading her and the aren’t trying to run her into the ground. She’s being targeted by jealous bitches and the league, her coach, and her organization are too weak and/or dumb to stop it.

Man all those tweets about CC not being on the WNBA poster got me so riled up I didn't think I'd be able to sleep tonight.

Turns out there is a pretty simple explanation and it's not related to the secret cabal inside the WNBA offices.

So, is Wincraft the only place that the WNBA does business with? Could they have included her if they perhaps searched for another company that could? Bulls--t.

The Fever can control her for the next 3 years.

How? I thought 4th year was tram option and then player option after that?

They can apply the Core designator to her up to 2 times, I believe.

Core Players

You’ve probably heard of the term “Coring a Player,” think of it almost as the WNBA’s version of a franchise tag. An organization can, at maximum, have one veteran free agent whom they have cored on their roster at any one time.

A Core Qualifying Offer is a fully guaranteed one-year deal worth the supermax that both UFA and RFA’s are eligible for.

If a player receives a Core Designation, the team that designates them as such is the only team with which a player can sign or negotiate a contract during the free agency period. But the team and player can still negotiate a move elsewhere via a sign-and-trade agreement if both parties desire.

Hell CC is polarizing on an Iowa message board. No shock it’s ramped up times a thousand out in the Twitter and WNBA zeitgeist.

Im becoming increasingly pessimistic this ends well for anyone, especially CC. Like can you imagine another 13-15 years of this? Her career may take an odd turn at some point.
