So, it's 2:30 on CBS if Bama wins and 6:15 on ESPN/2 is LSU wins.

I want the late ESPN game too plus that would mean that LSU beat them. That would almost completely knock Bama out of a shot to win the West---would love for them to come to Starkville with their goal of going to Atlanta shattered and have to play against a rocking home field advantage at DWS!

If you want MSU to get to Atlanta, you want Alabama to beat LSU, and then have someone else beat LSU while we win out. It's not an easy scenario, but crazier things have happened.

Wouldn't a two loss MSU team benefit more from an Alabama win? It would seem to me that if MSU wins out, they would need a log jam at the top to get the nod.

That sucks. If LSU wins, that pretty much guarantees that the SECW champion will be LSU or UM, but we will get to play Bama at night, possibly with them a little deflated.

If Bama wins, we will still be theoretically in the hunt for the SECW, with Bama, LSU, UM, and MSU alive for the West with roughly that order of likelihood for winning the West, and we'll get a higher profile match against Bama, but we will lose out on the home field advantage that comes with a night start.

If LSU, Ark, and State win this week, LSU/Ark. is at 2:30
If LSU wins, Ark loses, and State wins, Bama/MSU at 2:30
If Bama and State win, 2:30 game

So the dream scenario is Bama over LSU, Ole Miss over LSU, MSU over Mizzou, Bama, Arky, and Ole Miss. Right?

Even if the bama/OM both over LSU works out, we still have the winner of the LSU/A&M who will have the tiebreaker over State. Need Auburn to knock off A&M and then A&M to beat LSU with us winning out.

Not me. I'd much rather start my drive back to the coast at 6:30 after the game instead of 10:00 after the game.

ETA: Plus a 2:30 game would mean a Bama win this Saturday, which we should all be pulling for...

If we win out, that gives Bama 2 losses and we win the head to head. TSUN has 2 SEC losses and we win Head to head. We need TAMU to lose one more, Auburn hopefully, then they can beat LSU. Then we need 3 LSU losses in their games between Bama, TSUN, Arkie, TAMU. So root for Bama and TSUN

I would rather LSU win and therefore kill our chances of going to Atlanta just for the simple fact that I don't have to listen to Gary and Verne commentate our game.

I am just concerned about Bama coming to town off a LSU win---focused and determined, seeing that Atlanta SECCG light at the end of the tunnel and thus pumped and focused enough to beat the New England Patriots.

I think the only thing that would make Bama come into our game flat would be a loss to LSU and all of their goals suddenly shot to Hell.

Trust me I would love to create the dream world where LSU loses 3, Bama loses 1, Ole Miss loses 2, and MSU rides to Atlanta on the back of the Loch Ness monster beside a Leprechaun while eating a Unicorn steak (medium rare)...but I just don't see it working out.

Yes, I'd rather have the 2:30 game for the same reasons, plus it would mean that Bama beat LSU (a low probability best I can tell). The major downside is that we'd have to listen to Vern and Gary when we watch our recordings.

It's simpler than that.

We win out, Bama wins out except vs us, UM wins out except vs us, and we go to Atlanta no matter who else is in the mix. You can't hardly get a 5-way tie at this point, and we win the 4-way tiebreakers that have UM and Bama in them.
Tiebreaker trouble for us comes if UM doesn't deliver against LSU but TAMU does.

It's too hard to get up for two games in a row, especially on the road. If there was a team that could do it, it would be Bama. But alas, they are still 20-year olds.

At least we can agree on one thing: you don't understand Saban after a loss.

When there is more than a two team tie, head to head is down the list of tiebreakers. LSU would be eliminated (via tiebreakers) before head to head is considered. And, unless A&M is a two loss team, we would be sitting pretty on all tiebreakers.

We can't win a 2-team tie with them, but in a 4-way 6-2 tie, somebody's guaranteed to go to Atlanta even though they lost to another team in the tie. A 4-way tie between us, LSU, Ole Miss, and Alabama sends us to Atlanta.

IF that happens, State and Ole Miss would have beaten two teams in that group, and LSU and Bama only one, and we would have beaten Ole Miss head to head. So it actually makes some sense.
