It's time to prove them wrong. Beat teams we are not expected to beat and the perception will change.
Our perception isn't being the #63 program behind UNLV and others. This is CBS Sports not knowing anything about the strength of our football team. Shame on them for their poor research. I would have put us in the mid forties somewhere, ahead of teams like Pitt, Syr. etc.

Funny you say mid-40s, because that's exactly where we are in Bill Connelly's projections. Connelly does his homework, and his preseason model puts us at 45. Alas, that's only good for 13th in the B1G, but he's very high on our DL portal haul and thinks there's a good chance we outplay his projection. Let’s beat a ranked team this season. That will help change the perception. What is it 41 straight losses against ranked teams? Beat a name school in football, that’s a start. It’s year 6 for GS 2.0. Time to start making some noise on the field.
That is a great and detailed writeup on each team, including Rutgers. Interesting he has the defense ranked higher than the offense. The BTN crew was raving about the offense, in particular the WRs and Athan. We shall see with the tough schedule.
At this point his rankings are mostly projections based on results from last season (though he was also high on the D's potential given the portal adds, and I think in preseason he factors in returning/incoming production as well). If what the BTN crew saw was legit, the O ranking will climb throughout the season - hopefully they were right about the offense and Connelly is right about the transfer DEs.
