So out of the 16 teams in the bracket, there's only 1 P5 (Colorado) and the rest looks like mid-major craptastic tournament spectacular (including ORU). Isn't it a sure fire sign you should probably discontinue your event if you can't attract any good teams? Is it even worth taking a bid if your a major basketball school anymore?

Oregon State turned down the CBI. Memphis fans said they announced earlier that it was NIT or nothing for them. I would guess many others (Minnesota, TCU ?) quietly declined. Maybe a Tulsa team with a ton of freshmen (2017?) would accept a bid, but I really hope we don't have to again.

CBI was fun the one time we did it because there were three games with old foe Bradley and because we had been so awful for a few years. I can't imagine us doing it again...or rather don't want to imagine ever needing to.

Then the next question is...should this event just go away? ORU has a home game but it is going to be really quiet in the Mabee Center as students are on Spring Break (just like TU). I actually think TU fans might show up to a pretty decent late notice crowb (3500-4000). ORU might be lucky to draw 1500 to their CBI game.

Does the CBI still require teams to front $10k for a home game?

Here's a question: Does it make money? Because if it does, it's not going anywhere.
