That's a steep fall in a year. Bad things are bound to happen when LeBron leaves town. He's better off anyway. They fired the winningest coach ever in Lenny Wilkins, too.

Time for a coach who can help mold young talent into a twenty win team. Lue did his job navigating substition patterns with more experienced talent plus an amazing talent in LeBron. Team structure has changed dramatically so Larry Drew is a much better choice.

I think it's a good move for both sides.

Gotta be tough to have the same voice in the locker room but under dramatically different circumstances. Time for a fresh start.

They should do the same from a roster standpoint. You're wasting money and minutes with veterans like Love, Thompson, Korver, Smith and company.

Find a young coach, blow it up, stockpile picks, give minutes to your young guys, and hope another generational talent is born down the street that you can brainwash into believing he's responsible for saving the entire city.

Worst coach to ever win an NBA championship?
Interesting question. Probably yes. There's 0 on his resume' outside of the Cavs, and he was basically hand-picked by LeBron.

NBA coaching is an interesting conundrum. The game is all about the players, way beyond what you see in other sports. However, if you look at the last 40 years, it's amazing how few coaches have won titles. You'd think there would be more "along for the ride" types like Lue, but there really aren't many. Guys like Billy Cunningham, KC Jones, and, to a lesser extent, Eric Spoelstra, seemed to mainly be ego-managers, but they did a great job with that over extended periods of time.

It really seems like Red Auerbach set the mold, and it's never really changed. Find the right combination of (great) players (and Auerbach gets bonus points because he did that himself), get them to buy-in as a complete team, and relentlessly beat opponents into the ground.

That was Auerbach, but also Pat Riley, Phil Jackson, Gregg Popovich, Chuck Daly, and now Steve Kerr.

Yes, hands down. He was selected by Lebron to "coach" the team...if it weren't for Steph's injury and Draymond punching nuts, the Warriors would have won.

I think the Cavs win that series even with Draymond not getting suspended.

To me the bigger IF was if the Cavs win the previous year with Kyrie and Love.

Then maybe Blatt doesn’t get fired the following season.
