What's the game plan? I think this will be a game where PJ can dominate. He has the size advantage and can more than match their quickness.

My biggest concern is that we come out flat. Hopefully UH will do that but if not, we must match their intensity.

I think Herro and KJ will do well in this game also. All in all, I think we just have too many weapons for UH. Our bench is playing well and we will advance!

I feel this game will come down to rebounding and converting at free throw line. Houston looks like they have had their success this year out rebounding teams and playing style of defense that forces turnovers.(which means they tend to foul a bunch) we need to run our sets and force Houston to defend without fouling, I don’t think Houston can do that with our team.
If we defend and rebound as we’re capable of doing and don’t have a 10-25 night from free throw line I think we advance.

On defense, they remind me of Florida. Kentucky will need to keep attacking into the lane with KJ and Herro and PJ, if he's capable, and not settling for outside shots. In the Florida game at Rupp, the game was close for 30 minutes but that strategy eventually wore them down.

Ashton is the key. He's going to be pressured - if he plays like he has as of late, we should be in good shape. Protect the ball, get us into our sets and penetrate late in the clock when he needs to.

I think Cal will emphasize 3 point D and rebounding- so we should see some more quick hooks for Nick after he watches a ball drop in front of his face .

I think this will be a fast-paced game, up and down the court, run and gun. Advantage us.
Will be exact opposite. Houston plays slow. Will be a grind it out low scoring defensive battle with score in the 60’s. Houston is very good defensively. I say Cats 68-62

I think both teams will take fast breaks when they can but they are a lot like us, if its not there they will back it out and run a set. I am hoping if they crash the boards, we rebound and can get out on the break.

I think Wofford was a huge turning point.

We struggled with lapses on D--especially from the 3 point range. This team was locked in the whole game. Wofford made some absurd 3's early.

If PJ plays--you feed him the ball. If he's not out there--feed Reed the ball. EJ and Nick can have success in this game because of their size. They just can't play soft.

I think our guards are going to swarm them like they did McGee. Davis Jr and company are good college point guards.. but they aren't Coby White, Tremont Waters, or Kira Lewis. They aren't Jones, Bone, Smart. I see nothing to think that these guards are going to torch our guys. On the other end, how are they going to guard Hagans, KJ, IQ and Herro?

Houston will need to get steals in the backcourt and before our sets.. and even that won't be easy.

Hagans/ or Herro (not sure who will be guarding him) is going to have to make sure their PG doesn't get points in transition. Little dude, but he has Wall-like speed. Not sure if PJ will play, and even if he does he probably won't be 100%. Either way our bigs, esp Reid should have a field day inside. It's very important that our guards come out aggressive and not be timid in the first half. Because we are now starting to play teams, that if you get down big early, you may not be able to come back. And lastly, we must be strong with the ball, because Houston hangs on you defensively, and are quick enough to get in passing lanes.
I have a sneaking suspicion we are going to win this comfortably. They are a good team, but I think we are just going to be to big & physical for them, esp in the paint.

With the fact that PJ will probably be sore after any game time and have swelling, I believe Cal will use him sparingly. Maybe short stents and only if needed. I have no doubt PJ can go after watching the videos, but if we get out to a nice lead early and everyone is on like the last time we played AUB without RT and beat them down by 30 maybe we can save PJ. Now, if it is a war he has to go as long as he can because without this win there is no tomorrow. But would be nice to see us start on fire and have PJ only needed 5 mins here and 5 mins there. I know it's probably going to be a war, but when this team is on we can pound good teams and I'm not sold on HOU being as good as others. OHST was horrible check their record they lost 6 out of 7 and 3 straight late. We need to get this win tomorrow, but man we will need PJ Sunday without a doubt. Going to be an interesting balancing act combined with game flow.
