If the team was unhappy with Cockburn coming months ago, how the hell would they be okay with Sharpe coming 2 weeks "allegedly" before the season starts?? Just doesnt add up.

I was waiting on you! But it was on the 2nd page, quickly headed to a 9 pager. I had to take it. Sorry manDamn it Smed, that’s my joke!
AFAIK, there have only been two players that joined the team and never played a game. Kanter who was not allowed to, and some kid whose name I can't even remember that was signed by Gillispie and he never got in a single minute.Guess things will work out but will this open up another can of worms where someone will come and not play a game then go to the draft as some have pointed out ?
Not impossible, but not likely at all over Duren.Sharpe will be the #1 pick probably whatever year he decides on.
Cal could definitely play 4 guard lineups and platoon. Evidently Jones said Sharpe called CAL and said his handlers have learned he can enroll now and go in the draft next year. What is CAL suppose to say nah don’t want you. He has to take him or lose him to another school or G league etc. If CAL wasn’t in a drought he probably lets him walk but he has to have a good season because the Natives are restless. If the team was unhappy with Cockburn coming months ago, how the hell would they be okay with Sharpe coming 2 weeks "allegedly" before the season starts?? Bagley took a whole senior year in like 9 hours so it's possibleMidterms at UK are in 3 days, it would be impossible to enroll this semester for him?

i think hes overrated as a pro prospect. but he looks like a kid that could be a beast as a college freshman. it’s just…is he gonna play to his strengths and be a beast? or is he gonna try to float on the perimeter to impress the scouts?Duren looks overrated to me.

Maybe. They tend to give those type of big guys a lot of slack and still take them. He will dominate that little conference too, so he will look all world probably.Duren looks overrated to me.
Duren looks overrated to me.
I just don't think he's elite at anything.
2013: UK loses in the first round of the NITIf he was to play this season then go in the 2022 draft if he's a top 3 pick it can only help Cal in recruiting. That's not bad plus we have him this season.
The bad we lose out on winning it next year and he's only playing on a sweet 16 team this season. If he plays maybe a final 4. But you don't win 9 games and come back and win championships.
We have a completely different team. It's not like we went 9-16 and brought back all the kids that weren't producing. If he was to play this season then go in the 2022 draft if he's a top 3 pick it can only help Cal in recruiting. That's not bad plus we have him this season.

You have to be 19 by the end of the year you are drafted in.
There are a lot of kids that are 19 the day they graduate HS. Why don’t they go straight to the pro’s if you just have to be 19?
i think we’re better than a s16 team on paper at least. If he was to play this season then go in the 2022 draft if he's a top 3 pick it can only help Cal in recruiting. That's not bad plus we have him this season.

Sure you do. Last year has nothing to do with this year.i think we’re better than a s16 team on paper at least.
I mean he either is and we should be estatic he gets to play this year, or he isn’t and we get him for two years. Worst case would be come early and never play. So I’m down to see him play at least one year. He a talent that could take us to the top this year too.Graf did write that Sharpe will be eligible for the 2022 draft. Sounds like Cal will play him to get what he can out of him. (smh)
AgreedAs of now I’d rather have him this year.
Things could change but as of right now it looks like we’ll be stronger in the post this year than next year. So put your best possible guard package with your best possible post package and swing for the fences.
Of course you can, especially with this much roster turnover. It's not the norm because elite programs don't have many losing seasons, but last years record is irrelevant. But you don't win 9 games and come back and win championships.
Exactly... We always look to the next season. Titles are so hard to win and if he helps get one this season you take it.If he helps us win #9 this year then who cares about the following year.
Something something one in hand two in bush.Exactly... We always look to the next season. Titles are so hard to win and if he helps get one this season you take it.
Who knows what will happen before next season
A win win for Sharpe and UK.That seems to be the rumor. Now the question will be, if he tries to play in spring semester and then head to NBA June 2022... which will hurt us for next season.
WrongIF he shows up on campus in "2 weeks" isn't that "one year removed" from high school? He hasn't gone to high school since May?
Cal loves it. Sharpe will get to work out with the team, learn the system before playing next year. Just like Oscar did this year.I doubt Cal is happy about this development either, but he'll never say so.
He's kind of stuck. It's not like he can tell the kid no. He could just go enroll somewhere else so we might as well take the help if we can get it.
After the dust settles, Wheeler, Washington, Sharpe, Hopkins and Oscar, assuming Hopkins is as good right now as advertised. Grady will play a lot of back-up at the 2 and 3 spots and Brooks will do the same at the 4 and 5, assuming he doesn't beat out Hopkins for the entire season as the 4 starter. This, of course, is contingent on the assumption that Sharpe plays this entire season. Just my gut feeling.Washington

Sharpe
Brooks
Oscar
Yep, tomorrow is never promised. I say let's give us as great a chance to win a title this year as possible. Come on down Sharpe!Hope he enrolls and plays now. Championships are hard to come by. I’m impatient and greedy.
If that's what happens then of course he would like it. If the kid plays one semester and bolts then I'm sure he does not. That comment was based on that scenario since it was being discussed.Cal loves it. Sharpe will get to work out with the team, learn the system before playing next year. Just like Oscar did this year.
Many guys would lose minutes, he's too damn good to ride the bench...hopefully it doesn't come to fruition and ruin team chemistry. If this does happen, Allen likely loses his minutes. Who else?
Is Sharpe a PG or SG? Or both? Could he play the 3?
