Every year MSU has excellent talent. And Coach D is a good aggressive coach. But the team is usually full of knuckleheads with an academic record that matches most in the SEC. For whatever reason, they tend to play as dopey as any team I have ever witnessed. Stupid, costly penalties are their trademark as much as super ballsy calls by their coach.

I know this is unpopular, but I believe MSU will cover. They absolutely, positively have to have this game, and I think we need to make an absolutely huge leap from the performance in our first two games to pull this one out. I think we will keep improving throughout the season, though.
I think the O/U should be set at 7. If Bowser is full go, we have a chance. Still not a believer in any of the other guys, especially against the MSU D.
Actually Anderson impressed me as much for his vision as his quick feet.That isn’t something that can be taught. That being said we need two quality backs and every offensive weapon available to beat MSU.
Massey Ratings (one of the computer guys) has NU with a 58% of winning outright and predicts that NU wins 13 - 10.

NU will need to get the passing game going and hope Hunter can work some option. It's not going to be easy to run on Sparty, Bowser or no Bowser.
Won't easy. has it ever been? MSU reaaly is not that good but the Cats need to catch passes and tackle runners.
MSU offense makes NU look like basketball on grass. Ironically, the last 3 head to head match ups all went OVER and Cats covered ATS. Neither team averaged 100 yards rushing and both team were 340+ passing. Bizzare!

The msu d is always great! We always seem to play up to our competition though- especially vs msu. Cousins still gives me nighmares though. Lewerke...I'm not sure if he can play as well?? I think it will be a really close game- I'm not sure who will win....
Just off the top of my head, over the past dozen meetings or so it seems to me we've done better in East Lansing than here, no?

That's crazy. Must be a lot of dumb MSU money driving up that line. The pros will come in and drive that line back down. I like NU and the points. Not so sure about the Under on this one. Makes sense to take the under but I just have a feeling that Hunter has a breakout game in this one.
They say that Vegas Always Knows, so I wouldn't be so quick to take the 'Cats and the points. They also usually say the trend is your friend, but maybe Vegas figures there's no way we can beat Michigan State 4 years in a row.

Detroit sports radio hosts are saying the line is insane, no way does MSU deserve it. And these guys are huge Spartan fans.
This game could go either way but vs. the spread NU and the points is a good bet. I love home dogs and people underestimate how much FItz’s teams improve from week to week. I saw enough signs from all units during the second half of the UNLV game to feel that things are starting to come together.
