Just got back from the game. Boy am I glad I was already in Charlotte for work reasons and just didn't travel to travel. This game was a blowout from the very beginning.

Weddington has to be a shell of it's 2016 team, just based off the number of players alone (been noticing a trend with all of the schools I've seen play this year). They look like a 2A team out there. They probably only had 28 or so dressed players.

As far as CC goes, they look to have a 4A size roster out there. I don't think anyone goes both ways. They came out guns blazing and basically put this game to a end in the 1st quarter. I found my way to the exit by the end of the 1st half.

I wonder who is going to challenge CC in the small 3A. Last night I was looking at a list of teams that may be 3A instead of 3AA and I just can't see anyone that can stop them. I know it's early, but I see them having their way in the playoffs this year and getting a ring.

I was listening to a group of Weddington parents/teachers/whoever and they were wondering why this team doesn't play Mallard Creek and Butler. I left with the same questions. This team is too good not to be playing top talent.

Thanks ForsythCo, this team is special! That's saying a lot considering their tradition.

Last night was about as complete a butt whooping as you will see anywhere.
Catholic got the ball first and had a 6+ minute drive to open the game which featured a 4th and 9 conversion to get down to the Weddington 7, from there Milan Howard would punch it in for a 7-0 lead.
Catholic would get on the board again after forcing a Weddington 3 and out on another Milan Howard touchdown run this one was for 33 yards. Following another Weddington 3 and out Catholic would go to their air for their next score a 35 yarder from Walton to Holden Schacte to make it 21-0 still in the 1st quarter.
Catholic's defense was lights out all night, Chase Foley would get a big fourth down sack on Weddington's next drive to give Catholic the ball again.
Milan Howard stayed hot ripping a 48yrd run on a screen pass setting up Lamagae McDowell's 8yrd TD run that made it 28-0. The next score came through the air from Walton to sophomore Garrett McKernan who snagged it with one hand, secured it and took for 81 yards and a 35-0 halftime lead!
Catholic would apply the running clock midway through the third on a Lamagae McDowell run.
Weddington got their one score on a screen pass on Catholic's second team defense, the first team defense has been scored on once since the Christian game.
All in all a total complete win for Catholic. Weddington is a very classy program with classy players and fans. However, I can see CC running clock everyone from now until they face Marvin Ridge in the final game of the year.
Onto Sun Valley, Go Cougars!

I get what you meant but a TD is crossing the 50 ( all be it only once). Sounds like CC is a beast and the team to beat in small 3a.
