MIA for well over a year, absent from the Mars Cheese Castle for three, the victory over the Badgers prompted a revival from behind the Cheddar Curtain. A chance to catch up on Bowl Math and perhaps it is time for potables....and prognostications....

Why did it go away as a regular feature?
Good question.

I wish I could say that we were undisciplined and started rather than ended with potables...

I'm afraid that the answer lies with logistics, certainly not a lack of intent. Its difficult for us to get together during the week to record the show - work, job related travel, distance between residences, etc. We decided that the show went better when we did it together, so no more "remote" call ins from me from places like Algiers or Doha.

We red circled October 28 though. The NU - Wisconsin game is a huge favorite of both of ours, and we saw that it immediately preceded the Notre Dame game, so we resolved last summer that no matter what we would meet on the 28th for 'Cat Nips. Mars Cheese Castle following a win, the $600 parking lot otherwise.

And in case it was the finale, I scoured the local wine merchants for a suitable potable.

So we may be done, we may be back, we will just have to see.

Knowing of your interest certainly helps - we got precious little feedback overall but really appreciated the encouragement from AlaskanWildcat.

So thanks for your question, show up on Saturday and make noise so we can prove the Waterboy wrong, and as always, Go 'Cats!

I also have always enjoyed ‘Cat Nips. Thanks for the special edition from the Cheese Castle, and I hope you all at least do ad hoc segments in the future.

Is it wrong that on most weekends I stand outside the Mars Cheese Castle and mumble rants about NU football to cheese-consuming passers-by, regardless of whether we're actually taping an episode?

Dignum et iustum est.

Or in the vernacular, it is meet and just so to do.

We need to be mindful of our lessons learned, though. Especially boundaries. Like the day it was cold, and we went to the bar, and we asked if they would change the channel on the television from the Packers game to the Bears game. That was a lesson learned about boundaries.

Look, that was F'n great! Entertaining, but also hilarious and just a good overall production with normal cat fans. Looing forward to another Catnips after we hammer Notre Dame!

I’m bumping this given the sad news of FEW’s passing. This guy was quite the fan, and would have been better than most of the announcers on BTN. Too bad he never pursued that career.

Enjoy a NU legend’s final breakdown...

A great and timely bump. Thanks
