Dammit! I'm starting to get my hopes up again.
I don't know why I do it to myself. It's so much nicer to expect the worst and be surprised than to hope for the best and be disappointed.

PJ's playing. I have no doubt about that. Will he be 100 percent? Less sure about that, but I have high hopes.
Yes but there is an evaluation process that will take place as well.
So just wondering how to read into next steps after cast comes off. If he goes back into another hard cast, I assume that would be worst-case scenario in terms of chances of playing this weekend? If he moves to a boot, do we view that as an upgrade? Or is only hope for playing this weekend if he doesn't go back in to either hard cast or boot?
Fingers crossed but let’s hear a report how PJ’s foot feels minus the cast first. Is it just improved or healed?
Positive news. Had it not come off by tomorrow at the latest, there'd be no chance he'd be ready by Friday given he'll need 2-3 days to even get on the court and test it out or work out "kinks". This gives PJ and the staff some time to evaluate and do any necessary rehab so that he's not just good to go Friday night, but good to go by at least 90% - not just because we need at least 90% of him, but because he can't personally risk a second, worse injury.
I think he will play through some nagging pain, as long as there isn’t a risk of a further, more significant injury. I actually think 80% of PJ is all the lift that we need.

It would seem very weird to suffer a sprain from blunt force. If true, id think he would have a fracture.
Who knows if it's really coming off. Cal didn't know how bad it was. He said he expected him to play last weekend until he went to the specialist.

Sure. I don’t dispute that it could happen, just seems like an odd way to suffer a sprain only.
Can’t imagine you’d kick a wall so hard that you sprain your foot and your toes be completely fine. Although I guess you could curl your toes in, but then your shoe would take the brunt of the impact. I just tried it with my toes curled in (in basketball shoes) and my foot feels completely fine. Will update if it swells up later.
Positive news. Really hope healing has gone well.
