He’s gotta be feeling the pressure.. looking forward to a great qb competition. May the best man win.

9/9! Upon extreme in-depth analysis of this performance, Casey has won the job. I will be posting videos of every throw within this video detailing why each one is so awesome. 🤤

Casey has excellent reading ability and field vision.
You have to wonder what he can do without defensives crashing in on him constantly.

Great news!

QB1 is going to be determined by the offensive line play. Great oline play will favor the more accurate pocket passer - Thompson. A porous oline will favor the better athlete scrambler/runner - Sims.

If it is close then Sims will get the nod - extra year of eligibility and a Rhule recruit

When is the last time we had a qb controversy based on who is better?
When is the last time we anticipated qb play and not dreaded it?
The winner for the job will be the one less likely to turn it over.
I love qb's who can run, was raised on it, but they so often are the same guys who can't see the field. That 20 yard scamper is often a scoring opportunity cashed in for a sure first down.

Usually I’m not for it, but I think you can make a good case for a 2-QB system here. Give defenses more to prepare for.

This seems like a staff that could embrace that. I’m sure it depends a lot on how the competition shakes out.
If Sims is throwing great, no need for CT time.
If CT is consistently moving the ball, then may not want to break rhythm with Sims.
But if both have strengths and weaknesses, but both are competent running the offense, then it could make sense.

I’ve never understood why such a stigma on 2 QB system when many/most other positions rotate based on various situations.

HH will likely have wildcat packages.

The other two will battle with the winner getting 98% of the snaps, but with a short hook if things go south.

Im jaded but also fully convinced the starter will get hurt, so they’ll both play.

I love it and hate it at the same time haha. Can't stand the anticipation vs always knowing who's actually going to be QB come every season. It's exciting.

We've seen the results when only one QB was ready to start. So I’ll take two that can actually games against P5 teams.

Sims just seems to have a better command of the game and pocket presence to me. .

Really like how he steps up in the pocket.

Several years ago our head coach announced that there was only one qb. I believe the wording was that he was 'the man'. I am sure this was meant to instill confidence in that one qb, to establish him as a team leader.
The underside of that was that every other qb on the roster was discouraged from even trying and served to chase them from the program. Despite intent, it's a stupid move.

If past history is any indication the third team Qb will probably have to start at least one game too ☹️

I wouldn’t underestimate Casey’s knowledge of this offense. He needs to be smart with his health, but he can be a Damn good QB in this system.
Regardless of who takes the snaps though, let’s pray the Oline is night and day different from what it has been.
