Insane athleticism for a human that size. An incredible combination of power, speed and explosiveness. 6-5 guys are not supposed to move that fast.
It’s on a couple of other threads but he ran like a 21.9 in the 200 and won the long jump for class C.Maybe...some context???
He focused on secondary events (for him) and ran sub 22 and won the long jump. He’s done dicking around with track and it’s time for him to get into the NU playbook. It’s on a couple of other threads but he ran like a 21.9 in the 200 and won the long jump for class C.
He was one of the top guys in the nation in discus but must have had a bad showing in districts and didn’t make state in that event.
Any idea when he is due to arrive in Lincoln?Insane athleticism for a human that size. An incredible combination of power, speed and explosiveness. 6-5 guys are not supposed to move that fast.
June 1st, cuz that’s my birthday.Any idea when he is due to arrive in Lincoln?
People forget what an athlete Wilt Chamberlain was. Talk about a big guy who could move fast, at 7'1" he won the the Big 8 440 yard sprint. How a guy that tall could handle the curves on a track is stunning.Insane athleticism for a human that size. Barring injuries, the QB should have a multitude of different weapons this Fall. I wonder if they'd redshirt Nelson or if he's just too talented to redshirt.Insane athleticism for a human that size. I think he adds big time play making ability, staff will have time during fall camp if this is the case..Barring injuries, the QB should have a multitude of different weapons this Fall. I wonder if they'd redshirt Nelson or if he's just too talented to redshirt.
He's too athletic and talented to redshirt. He will be used at many different positions. WR,TE, etc.Barring injuries, the QB should have a multitude of different weapons this Fall. I wonder if they'd redshirt Nelson or if he's just too talented to redshirt.

YesI know it was a different era and team but did Matt Herian play as a freshman?
Not saying Carter won’t play. I think he will, but what is the relevance? Who did Matt have playing ahead of him? What about the WR corps, when he played vs what we’ll field this year?I know it was a different era and team but did Matt Herian play as a freshman?
Yes I know and I agreed this team is very different. I was just thinking Matt and Nelson are comparable talents. Not saying Carter won’t play. I think he will, but what is the relevance? Who did Matt have playing ahead of him? What about the WR corps, when he played vs what we’ll field this year?
There will be a lot more, and better players to spread the ball around to this year than what were on that team.
Wilt was the greatest athlete of all time and I don't think it's particularly close whoever second was. It's not even human the things he did.People forget what an athlete Wilt Chamberlain was. As far as basketball the lanes were so much smaller in his day and besides Bill Russel and Nate Thurman there wasn’t anyone close to his size to defend him..Wilt was the greatest athlete of all time and I don't think it's particularly close whoever second was. It's not even human the things he did.
Bo Jackson. Hands down. The greatest.Wilt was the greatest athlete of all time and I don't think it's particularly close whoever second was. It's not even human the things he did.
Punter? He's too athletic and talented to redshirt. He will be used at many different positions. WR,TE, etc.

Would be great to see. I know he’s a great athlete I just wonder if he can’t play as an inline TE, is he really such a threat that they would use him as a flex TE? Are you taking off a WR like Coleman, Neyor, Barney, Lloyd in that situation. If so, is it worth it? Maybe in the RZ?He's too athletic and talented to redshirt. He will be used at many different positions. WR,TE, etc.
My guess, if those things are problems for him, is that he will be used near the goal line and on first down plays, split a bit, where he is not picking up blitzers.Obviously his athleticism is very high. I don’t though no anyone questions that.
TE is a difficult position to adjust to from small high ball. Can he block on a pin, or pull for a kick out or chip and release.
I would not be surprised to see him play quite a bit but also to get shown that he has a lot to learn from his mental mistakes. It’s third and 12 and you are down three and you want to max protect because the D is bring heat from all over, do you want him taking on that LB one on one in open space?

There will be a lot more, and better players to spread the ball around to this year than what were on that team. Hopefully T Fidone will do extremely well this year. If he play like he did pre-injury, or close, he should flourish with a real QB and better players around him.
On paper it's a dream team.I love him but think he will be a MUCH bigger mismatch at TE than at WR. So much at WR depends on getting in and out of breaks and running detailed routes.
We have some big bodies this year in the two transfers and Coleman. If they decide to play Nelson I hope it's mostly at TE where his speed AND size can be a mismatch. At WR it'll be primarily his size that'll be hard to match.
I wouldn't mind seeing him and Fidone on the field at the same time at TE.
Holla
Dylan has a quick releaseObviously his athleticism is very high. I don’t though no anyone questions that.

I believe Russell was only 6’9” himself. Chamberlain, in my opinion, did not make the players around him better. That’s why I would rate Russell ahead of Chamberlain. As far as basketball the lanes were so much smaller in his day and besides Bill Russel and Nate Thurman there wasn’t anyone close to his size to defend him..
Wes Unseld was only 6-7 and Elvan Hayes was 6-9 but neither came into the league till 68 or 69, so Wilt has very little opposing centers that were big enough to defend him..
"Dicking around" with track? Love the humor! He focused on secondary events (for him) and ran sub 22 and won the long jump. He’s done dicking around with track and it’s time for him to get into the NU playbook.
I believe also the multi-sport approach by Rhule is a big recruiting advantage with a few special athletes."Dicking around" with track? Love the humor!
But seriously, I'll gladly wait for a 48' triple jumper like Lloyd or a 6"10 high jumper/23' long jumper like Nelson. I like how this staff is looking at multi-sport athletes and kids with upside. Reminds me of the Osborne days where they would scout kids at their basketball games in person.
This Guy Disagrees!Wilt was the greatest athlete of all time and I don't think it's particularly close whoever second was. It's not even human the things he did.
Russell was also on an all-star team when the league had fewer teams. Offensively it wasn't close in terms of skill that Wilt was better, but Russell had better basketball IQ and didn't lack a will to win like Wilt.I believe Russell was only 6’9” himself. Chamberlain, in my opinion, did not make the players around him better. That’s why I would rate Russell ahead of Chamberlain.
123 in discus at districts. He is human after all. It’s on a couple of other threads but he ran like a 21.9 in the 200 and won the long jump for class C.
