He's our best option in the 9 spot against righties. There's a reason he's mostly been there for 2 years. A .380 OBP at this level and people talk about him like he's a scrub.

That being said, thank you to USC for being the first team to not shift him in a while and leaving that hole between 1st and 2nd.

What perfect plate discipline. The first two strikes were great pitches that caught a tiny edge of that umpire’s strike zone. He would have done the pitcher a favor swinging at either. But he absolutely had to swing with two strikes and luckily it found a hole.

and yeah, the smile and pat on the back was legendary.

USC seemed to be mostly anti shift, was interesting to see

I am very happy with the results but was telling my wife how I would love to see Carter hit his first homer of the year.

Huge at bat. I must admit I was hoping for a walk. But he came up with a clutch hit. Bottom of the order struggled today and came up huge in the end.
