Not going to sugar coat a player because he might be coming to UK ........... you and many others would be saying the same thing if this kid was transferring to Duke, UL, UNC etc.... none of you would be worried due to his not so good shooting and his bad shot selection...

and PS.. if he can shoot 36% like he did the year before ok thats good..... but if his overall FG% is 38%...... it better be because 3pt shots is all he takes or else shooting 2's badly will doom us in big games.
Idc if he ever shoots as long as he can get us in offense.
Experience in ball handling is crucial

Cal is putting together an ncaa all star team hide and watch
I love it because I know you hate him

This morning on the show they said that an anonymous source (same phone number that texted him on the show's "text machine" both times) who predicted Grady to UK is predicting Carr to UK. Take that with a mountain of salt.
Margarita salt hopefully

He said on the show this morning, that he had a source that has been right a lot, that told him Carr will be a Cat by Tuesday. Said he does not know who the source is but he has contacted him in the past with info that turned out to be true.
MJ: "Don"t quote me on that."
Next day , regardless of what happens:
"See! I told you so!"

I see alot of people have a problem with Carrs shooting stats but want to an elite pg. A Wall, Fox, Teague Ulis, type. Well let's be real bout the only stat that I see that isn't comparable is 2pt fg shooting. His career assists per game average are better than everyone but Wall, his career 3pt percent is better than everyone but Tyler U. His career ft percentage is right there with the best at 80 percent. All in a power 5 conference. Does anyone see an elite hs pg playing better especially out of this class which is considered weak.

Now that being said with maturity comes improvement. So it looks like if we get Carr we got a guy with over a hundred college games under his belt and as is we got a guy who can rank pretty close stat wise. Worst case scenario we get a guy who more than likely is as good or better than any freshman pg coming in this season and a huge upgrade over this past season. Best case scenario we get a guy who improves all of his shooting percentages with better shot selection and coaching and we have a guy who is right there stats wise as the best pgs of the last 11 season. So if we go middle ground we should at the very least see a drastic improvement over the pg play of last season.

I know alot of guys wanted a more proven shooter at pg but realistically of our winningest pg of the Cal era only knight and Tyler U shot better from 3. Tyler actually shot better as a fresh when he wasn't a starter and didn't have the pressure. His soph year he only shot one percentage point better than Carr did his soph year.

I think I would prefer some others over Carr
Abmas from Oral Roberts

MASON FAULKNER from Western Carolina

MARREON JACKSON from Toledo

I'm not sure Carr would be at the top of my list

felt the same way until we got Grady. I think Carr would have a much easier time playing basketball for us than Minnesota. Won’t have to shoulder the scoring load 100%. Would still love abmas though and I really did like Jackson’s film from Toledo.

Abmas, Jackson, Carr.. I'll take whoever wants it first, assuming it's down to those 3. I'd rather take the worst of those 3, than running the risk of not having a PG at all..

I think MJ is the source in this case. Whoever predicted we'd get Grady is the same person saying this will happen. So either Matt is his own source or he has someone feeding him info. But Matt Jones is where all of this stuff is coming from.
You are saying Matt Jones is driving the Car.

I believe Carr is coming. If not that's ok too. It's just odd that Point Guard U can't get the best of the best PGs anymore. Really strange.

He's got some pretty good advanced stats. High assist rate. Low turnover percentage. BPM of 7. Solid efficiency rating. 3.8 WS. He's a good rebounding guard. He also scored 19 points a game against a tough schedule. We'd need him to shoot the 3 ball better

If this is true............. then what has cal changed? Absolutely f****** nothing this is him getting his 1 shooter he likes to have on a team (like Herro) and the rest slashers that dont shoot well because Carr is 31% 3pt and a bad 38% fg overall last year.
grady and carr shoot it well enough, wtf do you want him to do?

Carr would be a major value add, immediate impact player for UK next season. I just cannot understand how so many fail to comprehend this. Stop pointing to a 3-pt fg% as your only talking point or evaluation of a player. Sheesh.
Shooting 80% from the free throw line on almost 7 (!) attempts per game actually makes him pretty efficient even with the subpar FG%. Having a guy that can put that kind of pressure on a defense is super valuable

He had the most free throw attempts per game among all high major point guards.

Since when is 3 pt shooting a prerequisite for a point guard? I thought it was taking care of the ball, low turnovers, creating for others, and the ability to get to the rim and/or line. If Carr is better at those than the majority of point guards, he’s a great fit for us.
