Carmel vs. Naz

I don't know what to make of this game. Naz has been so good in recent years, and Carmel not. But at this point they seem to be headed in different directions. I am curious what others think. I guess if I had to bet money I'd put it on Naz.

IDK if Nazareth is headed in the wrong direction per se. They played the non-con people have clamored for, and the conference is a meatgrinder.

They lost a Wisconsin commit to injury, and a star to Bones. Yes that hurt, but the program has talent, very much so in the SO class.

Naz starts 15 sophs/ frosh. Direction is pointing up.

I'm sure that's more than Carmel, but they also have a large underclassmen group playing. And VERY few seniors overall. People here keep counting Carmel out because of their history, but this group of kids can play well. And the kids that went to these schools 2-3 years ago aren't going to help this weekend. I can't say who will win, but I do know it's the real opportunity for this board to give Carmel some respect. Let's just see if they take that opportunity.

You are right, I probably am counting them out based on history! But that's all I had until starting this thread, so thank you very much.

After four straight appearences in the championship game, Naz was set to be at or near the very top for years. And then all of their best players left. Blame it on covid or ambition, but it had to have an effect on morale, recruiting, and everything. .

I guess the step up in competition didn't go too well for the young Corsairs. No easy ones left on the schedule either.
