exactly...look RU definitely has to win some games, its not a charity. No one is going to feel sorry for a team that implodes down the stretch, but RU has positioned themselves quite nicely. The freakout over losing to Maryland and Michigan is embarrassing for some people. Lose to Northwestern, then you can freak.

Right now RU is in a better shot to dance than Minny, Purdue, Wisky, Indy and Michigan....and there are tons of Q1 games left, after Northwestern, none of the 7 games would be considered bad losses...wins will be resume builders.

Not a charity.....lol

You're the third person I've seen who has said that winning at PSU is unlikely. Granted, it will be DIFFICULT -- like all Big Ten road games -- but PSU probably has the worst home environment in the conference, so I think we have a pretty good chance of winning there.

Penn State sold out today - first time since 2011.

We'll see how it goes for the rest. Weeknight games have been a tougher sell, and three of its four remaining home games after today are on weeknights: Illinois, Rutgers and Michigan State. The fewest advance tickets right now have been sold for Rutgers.

Penn State curtains off the upper deck for games like that, which takes capacity to 8,139 and improves the environment a good bit by reducing capacity and increasing 'density'. Interesting paper here on what makes for home court advantage:

The Home Court Advantage: Evidence from Men’s College Basketball

"The researcher has explained the home-court advantage phenomenon as an efficiency phenomenon and identified the Home Court Atmosphere (measured by home crowd density), among all home-related factors, as the leading source of the home court advantage."

The RAC is a nice arena for you to have this year in that regard. It can get filled even before everyone in the Rutgers fan base "catches on" that the team is really good.
