Like I been saying, Cal better figure out a way to get kids back for more than two years, cuz his recruiting has really dipped since the U19 fiasco.

Cal said years ago that modern kids can only reference the last two years in terms of what they remember from college guys. It's cool that we have those guys, but the high school players of today don't remember watching Wall or Davis in college. They were too young.
Kentucky isn't the OAD place anymore. Cal hasn't adapted. We're losing.
I still have some hope that this is one of the last classes that Cal wasn't able to get to early. At least not as early as K was.
K, now fully entrenched in 1AD, will be scrambling to fill next year's roster.. And he won't have the time to be all over the 2020 recruits (like he was with Jones, Cam, Carter etc). We've seen this with his recent recruiting misses. Cal has started hunting earlier as we know, plus with Olympic basketball, I have some faith he's not going to let coaches beat him to the punch.
Dude, if Tubby could have just held on another year, we'd all be celebrating with Wiseman, Maxey, Whitney, and DJ... The #1 class a year early! Freaking Tubby, burning us even after he's been gone for a decade!
It’s alarming but I’d wait to see what the grad transfer market is like. Also there’s still the possibility of someone recommitting, reclassing or blowing up late. Lots left to play out.
One thing I wouldn’t bank on is a junior nick Richards. Given recent history that seems the most unlikely of all scenarios.

I believe that's a key as well. Things run in cycles and even Dean Smith had issues with recruiting for a couple of seasons, however, recruiting Top Five players at Kentucky should not be a problem. Something is not right.
McDaniels Isn't a true big. He only goes 188lbs good size very good player. But he's a wing, we need 2 big men to replace the 4 we lose.

If we could just get someone, possibly through the Grad Transfer route that could be a stopper in the middle it would help immensely. Doesn't have to be a big time scorer but we need a shot blocker and strong presence inside. Not sure if Richards would ever be that guy against elite competition.
We coach the guys we have better.
I’ve got to be honest, after being at the game in person today, and then watching Duke/Gonzaga, I don’t think we could stay within 20 of either team on our best day. That’s just an honest opinion.
Hopefully we improve a lot over the course of the season, because we’re going to need to.

Seriously, it would be nice to have a Top Five center but Bam proved that it is possible to go a long way without a Bagely or Okafor as long as the guard play is superior. Just can't understand why we're not in the mix for any Top Five right now.
I wouldn’t say “worried” just yet after all we do have two top 10/ borderline top 5 guys already committed and a top 40 guy in Allen.
We’ve never dipped below #2 in recruiting rankings since Cal has been here so I’m hopeful that he will reel in some more studs along with most likely returning some guys

Just a guess but I don't think Richards comes back regardless. Too early to make a call on Montgomery.
Richards as a Junior, he can focus on getting better vs showing out for nba scouts. Cal just needs to start EJ.

My guess is that there is a lot of negative recruiting going on plus we don't know what kind of "deals" these guys are getting.
Maybe, but I don't think they will as of right now. Of course, they could really come on, which would be good news for UK also.

From watching Montgomery and Richards, it would seem that E.J. has more upside. He has nice form on his jump shot and is left handed which makes him harder to guard. Just hope he stays around instead of leaving after his first season.
Hmmm one school allows sexual assault to run rampant, one pays players free of NCAA penalty and the other gives away fake classes while telling the NCAA to pound sand. Seems as though UK should dip into some shadiness since that's what recruits seem to prefer these days

I can understand why Wiseman picked Memphis due to Penny, however, I'd like to know what the other recruits are saying as reasons they're not picking UK.

Honestly I agree. I’m all for cheating behind closed doors since about everyone else does it. Not fair to have a competitive disadvantage. And why is it even wrong to share some of the wealth of the billion dollar industry that the NCAA is?

Probably with Josh Harrelson. Had Kanter not been ruled ineligible I doubt if Harrelson would have made it off the bench.
With the way our recruiting is going, I could see him getting flipped at the last minute. Hope there isn't money out there trying to lure him away.
Haven't kept up with him. Do we have a realistic shot with him before I get excited? Is he a reclass option?
