Cards win game 1

Cards take 1st game of the series against Houston, 4-2. Funkhouser (6-1) went 7 innings, giving up 5 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 8. Funk did throw 128 pitches, which is a lot. McGrath came in to get 2 outs and then Burdi got the save by pitching an 1 inning and 1/3. Sturgeon was the offensive hero with 3 hits (1 double) and 3 rbis. Chittenden had 2 hits. Houston had the early lead until the 5th inning and the Cards knocked out Garza (5-2), who went 6.1 innings and gave up 4 runs, but only 1 was earned.

Cards can take the series tomorrow with Ruxer on the bump. Go Cards!!!! Big Win!
