If there was any chance of a flying fists, Timmy Bae would run away fast, then fall down with a broken ankle like all the leading actresses.
AWKWARD. What he's saying is "Fred this guy over here is still a millionaire. So he's got that going for him". Tim is just grinning and thinking "Yes. Yes I am." Miles is a good guy. He made some mistakes IMO in how he tried to discipline and motivate his players but overall he's a good guy. I'm assuming that Miles and Hoiberg are at the combine to watch Roby and offer moral support. I believe that Roby likes Miles quite a bit.

Miles would probably do alright at Michigan. He'd have a heckuva lot easier time recruiting to Michigan and in basketball its more Jimmies and Joes than x's and o's. Even he couldn't screw up Michigan IMO. Michigan's program history alone coupled with all of the guys they've put in the NBA have kids wanting to play their and their 300 mile radius has way more talent than our 500 mile radius.
So you think Miles is a much better coach than Tommy Amaker? If you do, that's fine. I just think 99.999999999% of the people who follow college basketball would disagree with you.

It's great that both Miles and Hoiberg were there to support Roby.

Tim would make Golden Stats Warriors a 7th seed in the West
Tim would make Kentucky, UNC, and Duke football schools.
Amaker was roughly a .600 coach at Michigan and he's staying that at Harvard. I would have to go back and look at what Michigan's non-con was like then but I think Miles may be a better coach than Amiker. I watched a lot of Harvard basketball this year due to a family tie and I wasn't overly impressed with how they play O or D. He recruited a some very good players but IMO they should have easily won their conference and they didn't. He'll have a couple of guys drafted off of Harvard's roster in the coming years. Amiker's wife is a prof at Harvard and they'll keep him as long as he wants to stay there but I don't think he's a great coach.
Actually Amaker's winning percentage at Harvard is .637 and that includes an 8-22 record in his first season. I have no desire to shovel dirt on Miles but I'll bet if you take 100 athletic directors and give them the choice of hiring Tommy Amaker or Tim Miles, 99 of them are going to choose the former.

Amiker brought in a top 10 recruiting class a couple of years ago and they had a great year this year....then they got beat by Yale in the conference tournament. Yale had a good team but with the talent Amiker has that shouldn't have happened. His record this year brought his winning percentage up quite a bit at Harvard. Amiker under performed horribly at Michigan. Maybe he's better now than he was at Michigan. No doubt he's a bigger name and that factors in to any decision an AD would make but x's and o's wise I don't think he's any better than Miles. Again, I watched most of Harvard's home games this past year. I certainly think Amiker was able to recruit a better roster to Harvard and more depth than what Miles brought to NU.
No, it didn't. Harvard went 19-12 this year so his winning percentage dropped slightly.
Hmm. You're right. Seemed better than that. They had a big non-con win over UMass and I thought they ended up better than that. With a top ten recruiting class and then a stud freshman, they should have won more games than that. Kind of my point about Amiker. His team was loaded with talent and he didn't get it done. Danny Ainge was in the front row at a home game scouting their point guard and they had multiple 6-9+ guys who could score. Pretty underwhelming record given the talent level and the conference. To be fair, Yale had a good team but still Amiker had way more talent and depth than them.

I didn't say Amaker is a great coach, I said 99 out of 100 ADs would pick him to coach their team over Tim Miles. My point being that not just any coach can fall out of bed and succeed at Michigan, and I suspect Michigan is about to find that out - again.
