Our baseball team is so bad - I can't wait for the season to be officially over. I hope we can hire a new coach that will bring us back to respectability, but based on our hiring history for the past 15 years I am not optimistic.

I don't think the players want to be here either... at least they aren't playing like it. I suppose that could work out for us.

Wasn't Monty the recruiting coordinator and hitting coach for manure? Monty brought a lot of the current players in with a top 10 transfer class.Could manure have ruined them this bad?

What?!? Why not?!? They have the world’s best fans at their back! It’s not like they’re being ridiculed and metaphorically spat upon by the worlds best fans for whom they wear that uniform! Good thing too; if they were it would probably be made note of by potential coaches and players!

I am optimistic based upon the fact we have an experienced AD, I expect the current AD to make much better hiring decisions than his predecessor. He was stuck with Lamont due to a very foolish decision made by his predecessor, so I give him a pass on retaining the loser.

I was just looking at their body language and brain farts in today's version of Gamecock Baseball.
Chicken or egg. What comes first, bad ball or bad fans? Given further thought, I'd say bad fans are like the opposite of the participation trophy era so that really doesn't sound all that bad to me. Truth is I am having a tough time trying to figure out who I would keep on this team next year if it were me. This coming from a guy who in his history of posting never really bashed an individual player. That is a whole new level of low. Me or them, take your pick.

Yes, best fans in the world--according to the 113 who attended today's game.

.271 is the best hitter in the lineup today and some folks want the to be the permanent coach?
I have to think the "hitting coach/interim coach" is also responsible for at least some of the talent on this team over the years... or played significant a part in putting this team together at the very least. More of that we don't need.
As for the hitting, I think what gets me more than anything else is it's like no one has ever asked these guys to protect the plate with two strikes. Or if we have, the guys just blew it off? smdh

The world's best college football fans have enabled the football program to have 134 years of mediocrity. Supporting bad play and bad results seems to be the gamecock way. The fact the fan base celebrates this unwavering support of bad to mediocre football has to be noted by potential coaches and players. They have to think they can enjoy that support without really having to produce anything.
