I honestly can't wait to watch Edwards, Bradshaw, Dillingham, Wagner, Reed, Onyenso, Thiero, & whoever else joins.

My favorite player last year was Reeves (I hope he comes back) by far and if he leaves that sucks but there are also other things I want to see.

I want to see:

Edwards and that smooth lefty game, some of my favorite UK players of all time have been lefties. I think he's a difference-maker.

Bradshaw at the stretch 4 and protecting the rim, I think he might have some Cauley Stein-type plays.

Dillingham and that handle and quick release on shots, really never had that guy in my time as a fan (Harrow doesn't count)

Wagner, I want to see if he is that alpha competitor who could be a Brandon Knight type that just makes plays

Reed, his dad was one of my favorites and I want to see how his game translates to college (I think it will be better than a lot think)

Onyenso, I want to see if there is a Nick Richards skill jump that happens thanks to more PT

Thiero, I just love how he competes, think he could be a big surprise impact-wise

I know the sky is falling but I'm excited to see what these guys can do.

I think Edwards is going to be awesome. I look forward to watching him and Wagner the most. I just hope the portal starts being a lot better to us than it has lately. We gotta get some players

I’m with you. I’m just waiting till Cal leaves before i get excited about UK basketball again. I can’t believe it’s gotten to this point. I didn’t think he’d ever be this bad. But here we are.

I pray he’s out sooner rather than later. He just doesn’t have it anymore.

Not interested in any of those players and how they will do this season?

We’ve seen it before. This team reminds me of a worse version of 2018. Really young and overly dependent on the incoming recruiting clsss. But with no one as talented as SGA to save the season and at the moment zero depth.

I was not high on Wagner but he’s improved quite a bit over the last year. Edwards is a really good player on offense at least. I think he’s a difference maker.

But at the moment those are the only two guys we have committed for next season that i could see playing major minutes for a legit title threat.

Possibly onyenso too because of his potential impact on the defensive end. But he was so lost last season it seems he had a long way to go.

I am highly skeptical of Bradshaw. His lofty ranking is pretty clearly all about his long term potential because even at 7’1 he wasn’t dominant in high school, which does nothing for us. And that’s exacerbated by the buzz that Cal is going to play him out of position at the 4.

Dillingham is not ready to play major minutes at this level. He has phenomenal ball skills but very little discipline and is so slight of a frame a strong breeze would knock him over(and you know, basketball supposedly being a non contact sport that really shouldn’t matter but we all know once we get to SEC play these officials turn into claymation Mills Lane and allow everything against us). and he plays zero defense.

Ok good, we got that one out of our system. Quick on the trigger, well done.
Just like your copy-paste of what you can't wait for, eh? Do you even look at scouting reports of recruits, or just look for that tiny window where you think deflections from Cal will make you a super fan?

I too am looking forward to next year’s team. I look forward to seeing who comes back or gets added to the roster.

It really does us no good to worry about players leaving or our coach doing this or that. It’s out of our control.

Might as well try to be positive.

We have some great young talent coming in. And if we can get back a few guys and/or a few pieces from the portal, we should have a solid team.

We get Tshiebwe, Livingston, and Reeves back, we will be Preseason Top 5 at least, I would think. Maybe even Preseason #1 in some polls.

We lose Livingston, maybe we can get Kobe Brown.

We lose Reeves, maybe a great wing shooter decides to be a grad transfer and come here.

We lose Tshiebwe, maybe we can get the Nelson kid or Miranda kid.

I like the 7 players we have and I know we are going to add some guys.

I am hopeful and excited.

Might as well be, I can’t control who plays here.

What was the source of my copy and paste? If you have accusations, bring receipts.

Yeah, that mouse click was exhausting...

Odd though, less than 150 posts in 13 years...but most of them in the what...last 3 days.

Whose sock are you?

Pretty simple. Usually a lurker, but just so tired of the pity party on here. It got to the point where there was no basketball talk to consume anymore.

Starting threads like this in hopes of an actual basketball conversation.

Kinda tough to be real positive with 5 freshmen and 2 sophomores on the roster. Those 2 sophomores, didn’t log many minutes last season either. We better add some quality experience/depth or it’ll be a long season.
We will add some players. Right now, their quality is the question.

Get a Kobe Brown and we are looking pretty good.

There’s not a lot of great options out there, but there’s playing time to be had at UK if Tshiebwe, Reeves, and Livingston bolt. Should be able to draw somebody.

Getting Oscar and Reeves back would change everything.Still holding out hope for that.
The way this off-season has went I expect all 3 gone. Just the way it’s shaping up. Sucks with a good freshman class again. I can’t believe we didn’t go all out to find some portal options. Hopefully we are in good with the combine players who will leave, and grad transfers. We may not know our team until July or August.

We currently have 4% of our minutes played returning from last season. That would be the lowest in the Calipari era. Even lower than the 2021 team that went 9-16 and the 2013 team that went to the NIT.

The good news is, it’s sounding more likely that at least Oscar comes back now. That would put us at 20%.

Get Reeves back too and it jumps up to 41%, I think.

Add all three back and we are at nearly 50% of our scoring back.

And it’s been a long time since three starters returned. 2015, probably?

Fingers crossed they all return.

Edit: misread your post. I thought you were talking about scoring, not minutes.

I like your positivity. Unlike 95% of this board.
