My thoughts and prayers to the victims of Manchester and their families. Anyone on this board ever wonder about something like this taking place at HPSS?

I haven't specifically thought about HPSS per se. But I have frequently thought about soft targets such as malls, sporting events (in parking lots), and other crowded areas. Unfortunately in today's world, when there is a will and a way, these sick bastards will try. I'm sure many of us think it is an ISIS type directed hit, but whoever is responsible, they are sinking to the bottom of a deep barrel by targeting primarily teenagege girls.

And if they don't care about living, it is very hard to stop them.

You would think there would be some security on the path trains considering how crowded they are and their purpose, but there is absolutely none. I don't think Rutgers is much of a target

.....and if someone does attempt this anywhere near me, I hope I am either comfortably numb at the end of my tailgate, or I realize the danger and beat the living shart out of the person prior to something happening.

Actually, do you remember all the military personnel onsite with assault weapons when we've played Navy at home Post 9/11?

Manchester was a more inviting target than HPSS would be simply because you had a public transportation (train/tube) station bordering on the arena.

it already happen twice in the US, in Florida and CA.

No reason to think it couldn't happen anywhere else.

Just think about that next time someone complains about too much security at games and events.

It does expose the fact that while security may prevent someone from entering an event there isn't much security at the end of an event when everyone is exiting in large groups.

Nope. Never.

But I bet I might only be allowed (or even NOT allowed) to bring my seat cushion in going forward. Only thing I bring in with me other than sunblock, which depending on the packaging might be disallowed too.

And not making a joke or complaining about it either. Just they way I see it going here.

It will happen here.

With library close by, TV, and Amazon.com, I pretty much not bother leaving my property.

With pro and big college games starting at 8pm (ending at 11pm+), it is becoming too easy to just stay home.

After last night, just leave me to my gated community.

Agree that it's an f'd up world we now live in. I also think we, as a nation, should take some basic and logical precautions to limit danger in the US. However don't understand barricading oneself in their home to stay safe.

If I'm at the mall, I sometimes think stay away from the food court since it has the most people are in that area and it's a prime target.

its always been an F-upped place... We have been protected from it partly through wise governing on the part of our elected officials. We are now ruled by those who worship at the alter of tolerance of ALL things including many evil things. So, yeah get ready for more of this. A LOT more of this. There is no appeasing our way out of the consequences of inviting in those who hate us.

It can happen here very easily if we let our guard down about the way terrorists are recruiting in America. Both by the extreme Muslim ***#oles and those radical right wing nut jobs and probably the left leaning ones as well.
Don't forger Oklahoma City was not a Muslim terrorist action and the same type of nut jobs exist to this day
So this country must find a way to protect its citizens from foreign inspired and domestic inspired terrorist acts in the USA, but also be aware of the constitutional rights of American Citizens must not be infringed .

Foreign visitors , must adhere to American laws and the right to bear arms is a right that they must prove themselves worthy of above and beyond what US Citizens have to prove.

Muslims need to reform their religion, driving out those who are creating these monsters. It' s really not a case of we infidels being tolerant of being slaughtered. All told, we have all been very tolerant in the face of Islamic violence.

relax.

You can't hide in an underground bunker at home eating canned bread.

Just live your life as you normally would but keep an eye out. Report anything that looks out of place.

whats wrong with canned bread?

OK..so the Islamic State A-holes have claimed responsibility.
They always do. While I suspect that the alleged killer (a British citizen of Libyan descent) was ISIS-inspired, there is no evidence at this time that ISIS was actively involved in its planning and execution.

The ISIS will claim responsibility whether they were involved or not just to make people believe they can't be stopped.
Also many of wackos that do the acts of terrorism sometimes are influenced by reading about terrorist groups and want to make their sick mark do it on their own but make statements supporting a terrorist group making it easy for that group to claim they were involved even though they weren't..

Help me understand what you mean by that. I have been 100% intolerant of terrorism and terrorists. I will always be 100% intolerant of terrorism and terrorists. I cannot imagine there there are too many people who are tolerant of terrorism and terrorists.

So who it that we're being tolerant of? The only people left are people who are not terrorists. And so far as I can tell, they do not require any tolerance by anybody because they have done nothing wrong.

We are a country of soft targets. You can't build a wall around every public venue. If I worried about it I would have a medicine cabinet full of capsules. I feel fortunate to have grown up at a time when these senseless events were not part of the daily news cycle of horrors.
