Didn't see a thread. Very nice game 1 shutout to start the playoffs. Heavy hitting tough played game.
Is there a "well you can't beat them " team this year?
I am vaguely knowledgable of the NHL-and it "feels like" maybe there is not quite as much as some years?
I also "know" that we need to stay healthy-including at the Goalie position
Not really. As for the East... The teams that have historically been problems for us in the playoffs were either mediocre or bad this year and didn't make the playoffs (Florida, NYR) or otherwise aren't as loaded as they once were (Boston). I guess you could make the case that Tampa has had our number in the playoffs too--I remember them bouncing us a few years back--but they aren't the Tampa of old either. They might not make it out of round 1 vs MTL. As for the West, Colorado is the only team that I've seen with a very high ceiling but I'm not convinced they will cakewalk to the finals. The Kings have lost games 1 and 2 in Denver but both could've gone either way.Is there a "well you can't beat them " team this year?
PK was great but that 5 on 3....good Lord.....that was one of the worst efforts by the offensive team I have ever seen. Ottawa literally couldn't connect on passes to get into the zone. Just a horrific PP attempt by Ottawa on a 5 on 3Also 5 penalties killed in the 2nd. Penalty kill is crushing it.
They weren't as good as they need to be but to be fair they were better than in G1 and G2. Need them at their best to complete the sweet tmrw!Good win. I’m glad my prediction was wrong. The parade to the penalty box in the second period was ridiculous but besides that, it was good to get a road win without our A game.
Our top line will have to do better though. Aho, Svech, Jarvis were bad tonight.
