They fired their football coach because he didn't win enough football games.

The Syracuse AD, Gross is a dickhead and a dumbass. He fired Paul Pasqualoni who had OVERWHELMING success at Syracuse.

Quote:

"The team (Syracuse) had a 6-3 record in bowl games under Pasqualoni. Pasqualoni's 14-year record with Syracuse was 107-59-1. His only losing season was in 2002 with a 4-8 record. Most seasons of his tenure saw Syracuse competing in the Top 25 in the country. At the conclusion of the 2004 season the team lost the Champs Sports Bowl 51-14. New Athletic Director Daryl Gross fired Pasqualoni on December 29, 2004, despite the fact that Syracuse's President Nancy Cantor publicly stated that Pasqualoni would be on the sidelines the next seasonhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paul_Pasqualoni#cite_note-0."

But they replaced him with Greg Robinson who I think was a great hire.

Quote:

"Robinson is often praised by the Syracuse community for his public speaking abilities. He attributes this success to his "hard work and dedication" at Harvey Mudd College where Robinson obtained a Masters degree in Oratory Arts."

and

"The team under Robinson's tenure has been in a fundamental rebuilding stage, as several new assistants were also replaced upon Pasqualoni's departure. As such, Robinson has installed a new West Coast offense scheme"
