He's not qualified for this job and has done nothing to earn it. There better be a presser tomorrow announcing our next head coach.

First question for Mickey in PC should be: can you help us understand what you were seeing Purdy do well to keep him out there as long as you did? Do you regret not pulling him earlier?

Yeah Nebraska fans are emotional. This board last year was crazy with how the majority were defending a 3-9 coach in his 4th straight losing season. Mickey would be an absolutely awful hire that most g5 programs wouldn't touch yet people keep pushing for him as the losses pile up just because he played at Nebraska.

the idea Mickey was coaching for the job is absurd and has always been absurd.

MJ won’t be the next coach. Some are still in the denial stage of grief.

Joseph isn’t getting the HC job. But I would prefer to see Alberts make the best hire, rather than announce something early just to ease the butthurt.

Only the confused and blinded really thought he is/was a candidate. Only on message boards and social media was he a real candidate.

if mickey wins the last 3 and get to a bowl, he has a chance
Yah, not betting the ranch on going 3-0 vs Michigan, Wisc and Iowa. The MJ ship has sailed. Not sure it was ever there. If I was a betting man, I’d say TA has his guy and has for a while now.

I struggle with all the logic I am reading. See if I get this correct.

Mickey inherits a complete mess of a team that hasn't won since any of these kids came to Lincoln. The HC is a personal mess and gets fired three games in after getting beat by very low caliber teams. He comes in and has to fire his D coordinator after one game. He wins two games against weak teams but they did win when they may have folded in the past. So Mickey inherits all of that, no win position, shows some progress, kids play hard for him, and yes they last last week and again this week.

So bring in Ruhle who just go let go by the Panthers because his teams couldn't win in two years. Then they win after he is out. Tell me what he brings if you are comparing recent results?

As a qualifier, I don't have a dog in the fight, Trev makes the decision, not me.

NFL results don’t matter. Anyone that thinks it’s the same job is clueless. Ask Saban. Ask Meyer.

Mickey didn't inherit anything. He was the placeholder in a lost season. His resume isn't remotely comparable to rhule.

Yep nothing is dumber than bringing NFL results into a discussion on the college job. Harbaugh was a good NFL coach. Urban was a disaster. Yet in college urban went undefeated against harbaugh. Same game, but different sports

I don't think the presser will happen tomorrow. Expect it after the Iowa game (unless the new coach isn't ready for it to happen at that time).

You’re half right. Mickey won’t get the job, but the only way there is an announcement tomorrow is if Rhule is getting the job.

Otherwise we are waiting until the end of the regular season.

Is Mickey your cousin? Uncle? Fathers brothers sisters cousins former roommate? There are no Mickey legs to stand on, vs countless candidates with actual skins on the wall. It’s getting weird at this point.

Wont matter after we get pooped on the final 3 games. Thanks for filling in Mickey. We know you were handed a turd, but some gilding might have earned you the job.

MJ is showing he isn't head coach material right now by letting Whipple dictate who is under center. I like Joseph, but he's lost me since the CT injury.

Mickey is a great position coach and recruiter but please, Nebraska absolutely cannot hire a position coach to rescusitate a dead program.
