Supervision, Oversight, and Final Decisionmaking Power
As to the first and second factors emphasized by Edmond, the Acting Attorney General

establishes the parameters of the Special Counsel’s investigation at its outset, and Department of Justice policies frame the investigation as it proceeds. The investigation only comes into existence by the action of the Acting Attorney General, 28 C.F.R. § 600.1, and the Acting Attorney General defines the scope of the Special Counsel’s “jurisdiction,” id. § 600.4(a). The Special Counsel may request “additional jurisdiction,” but only the Acting Attorney General can grant the request. Id. § 600.4(b). Also, throughout the investigation, the Special Counsel “shall consult with appropriate offices within the Department for guidance with respect to established practices, policies and procedures.” Id. § 600.7(a). This consultation requirement affords the Acting Attorney General the opportunity to exert his supervisory powers, which will be discussed further below.
Not wrong Rosenstein legally could amend the scope if he chose to, not Mueller. There was no need to amend the scope to include the Steele dossier, since it was already under review.

If it was under review, why didn't it attract Mueller's attention or make it into his final report in terms of who was behind it or where it came from? Why the lack of interest behind its "Russian influences"?

You have been saying that the scope did not include the Steele Dossier and therefore they could not investigate it. Now it is proven via a legal determination that they chould have amended the jurisdiction without public notification. Now, you are switching gear and saying that an investigation was already happening/competed and they could not investigate. Both are false. They could have, should have, but choose not too.

I can't understand why that dossier and/or Steele were of zero interest to Mueller when Russians were linked to both? Can you explain that? I can't.
Only explanation I can offer for any of the comedy of errors is the desire to seat Hillary. Even some of the Trump leading people actually want Hillary. Until this week, and longer into the future, they have a strong belief that she will make it. That is the only way I can explain any of the loose investigations. The thing goes on and appears 97+ believe if they stop govt frome otherwise functioning, Trump can be nullified.

Rosenstein could, not the SC office. I am not switching gears, I have said all along ITT that it was being investigated elsewhere in the DOJ. Haul him in front of Congress and ask.

It actually does.

you keep quoting the following:

any links and/or coordination between the Russian government and individuals associated with the campaign of President Donald Trump; and

but always leave 2 and 3 out, why is that?...this is how they went after Concord, Manafort and Cohen. Is this a, it depends on what the word "and" means?

(ii) any matters that arose or may arise directly from the investigation; and

(iii) any other matters within the scope of 28 C.F.R. § 600.4(a).”

Facts you ignore because it points out your conversation is irrelevant. Nothing but spin.
Bombarding opinion leaks and propaganda videos is not factual and has nothing to do with what is being discussed ITT. When the reports are released and indictments start flowing on the dossier, investigation beginnings, etc - we can talk about facts.

I've listed them. And I linked to the court documents explaining them. The Manafort judge ruled the same way. I think maybe both judges did. The SC did not prosecute Cohen, SDNY did.

Which goes to ii and iii. You still have not proven that the SC could not have investigated the Steele Dossier. We know they didn't but it's pretty clear they could have.

Now google how disinformation works. Putin worked for the KGB not McDonalds. You have no idea what he really thinks. Some us are old enough to remember how much money Russia gave to the Clinton Foundation ? Putin said. [pfftt]

Wow.....sometimes I think you can think for yourself and then you decide to bring up the Clintons..... not sure what that has to do with the facts I noted though. The clintons did it so it makes it ok if trump does it. That’s some warped logic. How about nobody does it???? Have you thought of that approach?

It was not in the scope of their investigation, as we publicly know it. The scope would have to be changed by Rosenstein. By your logic, the SC could have expanded their scope to investigate Area 51, had Rosenstein amended the scope to include that.

Also, it is possible (though unlikely) the SC did investigate the dossier and that part was redacted on the report and he was banned from discussing ongoing DOJ matters. He couldn't discuss Roger Stone either.

Opinion pieces. No DOJ report yet, but a GOP lead House investigation still debunks the dossier being the basis for the Russia/Trump campaign investigation. But alas, it's over anyway. :joy::joy::joy:

Let's isolate this then:

Trump
  • Investigation started with Popadickulious. It was fake investigation from the start. he was approached, he was not trying to connect with the Russians. Went to jail for a process crime. This should have never been investigated, it was fake from the start
  • Carter Paige- same as above- lost his career over it. This should have never been investigated, it was fake from the start
  • Trump Tower- Moscow- Said it was about 100's of millions for Trump. The story was that Trump ran for President to get this deal done. The real story is that he was to get royalties which might have maxed 10 million over time. Trump never wanted to build there, he was just hoping his brand was on the the property. This caught Manafort and Cohen for crimes not associated with the deal. I can see where this would draw attention and should have been looked into. Trump was not involved with he financing of the project, he was there to brand the project. Given what has happened to date, do you Trump will ever do business within Russia?
  • M. Flynn- 0% to do with Russia. This should have never been investigated as it was separate from the Russian narrative.
  • Trump Tower meeting-This is big one. Trump took a meeting with known Russians to get dirt on Clinton. It was a set up from the start, but they did take the meeting. Should have been investigated, and it was. What was omitted from the report was that the Russians actually met with Clinton's campaign before and after the meeting, yet no mention of that in the report.

Clinton

  • The DNC and the Clinton Campaign paid a foreign spy to compile a fake dossier to smear Trump prior to the election. They used the intelligence community to add credibitly so that the MSM would run with it. It worked! The money they spent on the dossier actually went to Russian agents who make up things about Trump. This was not mentioned in the report or investigated until Barr got involved.
  • They used the fake dossier to spy on the Trump campaign and us citizens.
  • After the election, they used the same dossier to open an investigation into the Trump campaign. This was not mentioned in the report

LMAO

I saw an old man who could not remember the dossier and had no clue of the political conflicts of interest of the staff he hired. Inexcusable and he totally destroyed the credibility of the one sided investigation. Even the fake news knew it immediately. Best day ever in recent GOP history. Time to prosecute some real snakes and alligators. Drain the swamp.

Let’s start with Wilbur Ross

He was supposed to investigate all Russian attempts to "interfere" in the election. Misfud's disinformation certainly gained the attention of the FBI who thought a member of Trump's campaign had been "targeted" by Russians. So much so that they requested a FISA warrant to spy on Carter Page.

How that dossier, Misfud, or Page escaped enhanced scrutiny from Mueller or his team is something "I'm not ready to get into". [eyeroll]
