Can we fire Cal now?

No, because the clueless AD gave our boy John the most undeserved lifetime contract I've ever seen. We are stuck with him, there are no other CBB jobs for him to take because he's already got the top one, as for the NBA, those guys know he cannot coach worth a lick & aren't interested.

Fun times...

Firing him will cost our Athletic department so much. We will lose momentum in almost every other program including football.

Wait, we can't fire him, according to this board, UK basketball would fall flat on it's face without him, nobody else in cbb can come in here and do better.

Apparently Cal created UK basketball.
Lol I’m pretty sure because it is the buyout. Lol

Uhhh nooo, every time the subject comes up, you Cal fans immediately go to the "who would you replace him with" crap. I answered those questions earlier today in fact.

Nope...but the Tubby Smith swerve is upon us.

1. Sharpe will play in 2022 and give us a boost but will still not cohesive as a team and come up short
2. Then Sharpe goes pro and we'll have another unbalanced roster in 2023 with no Sharpe, no bigs, etc....

His only chance is for DJ Wagner comes and is unreal good and we can shape up a team around him. But I don't think it's going to happen.

I hate going back to Tubby all the time because that was forever ago, but that dude was ran out for what?!
He never missed the playoffs and had a championship himself. Yet there are people here willing to kiss the ground Cal walks on and I do not understand it. Tubby was the better coach imo. Recruiter? God no, but coach? Yes

If 3's aren't falling our offense is throw it to Oscar. Nothing else. Just standing around, one on one whatever you can get. All these good veteran players don't even make much of a difference in this game. Really think you give him a pro team we still lose some games.

We’ll think it is time to move on from Cal but Tubby made a ring and only final four with players he didn’t recruit and Cal laps him with final fours. Bottom line. Cal needs to move on and without question Tubb was more then past to get him out of here

It is not just 1 game or 1 season, it is 6 years of poor performance.
I agree, I’ve been growing tired of Cal for a few years now. Last year pushed me over the edge. So, I decided he would have to make the Final Four this year, to get back in good standing with me. Doesn’t look a Final Four anytime soon. Now, I’ll support the players and the University but, I’m done with Calipari.

Cal won’t be fired so forget all that. It’s an inane post loss reaction. But his in game coaching is spectacularly bad. Someone needs to but on staff to offset that. There are enough good players to be a top 25 team if coached properly. But this team is so far from a world beater, it’s not funny. The player composition is not far from a good high end mid major. To be effective, they are going to need a Brad Stevens type X’s and O’s Guy. Also, news flash, as good as Sharpe may be, he’s nowhere near enough to push this type of team over the edge. That’s the reality.
