Can we all agree on one thing?

IF for one reason or another we come up short this year, we will not have some massive epic meltdown. We don't need 1000 coaches coming out of the wood work saying what cal did or didn't do right. Can we be proud of this team without criticizing a move that may have been unpopular? Until then, I have three words; Enjoy The Ride. I want to see us win it all just as much as you, but I don't want to see us sink to the level of our foes. We all know them, they usually wear some form of red and must stay away from ledges and sharp objects after a loss. This isn't a slam or directed at any one poster, just a request that we be proud as hell of this team and support them even if things don't work out the way we all hoped.

If we do not win I personally guarantee there will be a fire Cal thread the night of our loss. I won't do it, but we have way too many people who live for UK basketball that will be so down they will be crying for someone to pay for it if it happens.

There is almost a meltdown on here when the Cats play & win in a close game. Can't imagine what it will be like if they lose.

Let's just agree not to lose. Simple enough, eh?

The key word being "live" for UK. We don't want the alternative. It's not a question of fandom or devotion. It's more of showing class, and representing the bbn. I never thought I would say this but that's one thing I give Duke fans credit for. Unlike our other enemies, they actuy call it like it is, not like they call it like they see it. if you read their boards, they give credit where credit is due. They don't bash a team just because you beat them or for any one player. I know there are some exceptions, but outside a few posters they have, unless it's unc they really don't bash as much as you would expect.

This is a nice thought yet we both know a small but vocal segment would embarrass us all...guaranteed.

I'd be disappointed, but not crushed if they lose. Some of the best teams lose every year. It's no indictment on any specific system or style. It's basketball, stupid things happen and that's why we watch it. I will still squarely want Cal for as long as we can keep him no matter what.

It's all a numbers game. The more legit chances to win, the more titles you end up with. UK actually is historically ahead of the curve by winning exactly 50% of the time they're in the final four. It looks to me like we're due.... (2011 - lost, 2012 - won, 2014 - lost, 2015 - ???)

All that said, I think we win.

If we don't win it all, I will be sad and dismayed. I also expect to be pissed about the refs. I will not be down on anyone on the team or coaching staff.

If we lose, I think we will all be disappointed. Not disappointed with the team, but disappointed for them. That's were I ended last season. Proud, but sad for them. It's been a great year, and unless someone else wins it all, there isn't a fan saw out there that wouldn't trade to be in our shoes.

UK grad you summed it up. I as well wil be disappointed with them not at them. It seems like an easy concept, but the transition always seems so much harder lol.

If we lose, it will because we didn't play zone, Cal was too stubborn to get entirely away from the platoon system, and Cal didn't play the Kentucky kids who really know what it means to be a wildcat.

I totally disagree if the subject is based on what we see out on the floor.
We have a right to discuss it.
The mods will delete anything that is useless and do a fine job of it.
I personally am happy that they don't turn this forum into a touchy feely pansy board like so many of you want.

Lol newera, I gotta know as well as some others on here did McDonald's retain their reigning employee of the month after you opened the link sam provided that was porn? I know you were not too happy about that. Jk, in all seriousness I understand where you are coming from and it's fine to voice your opinion. I just hope it doesn't cost you any dignity or pride when doing so. You maybe the exception, but we both know some may find it impossible.

Not a frickin' chance. Remember the absolute cesspool that this board was last season?- 18 months removed from a national title. That lasted all the way through the 1st half of the UL Sweet 16 game, when I remember going through threads and putting 11 different people on ignore, just to mark them as the fools making this board unbearable.

I wish we could agree on it, but the morons always come out at the first opportunity. 34-0 won't change them.

Most of the sane and rational posters will avoid this board in the case of a loss. I know I will and I am not sane or rational.

Oh hell no! If we go 39-1 I'm going to melt down on an epic proportion, but I do promice not to do it in a public forum or even blame Cal. He is the reason we are where we are at.

Hammer, nail, head. No way we win out unless Willis plays and is guaranteed 20 shots. Kentucky effect.

I think we can all agree on one thing, when the time comes, if it does and we are trailing early in a game or at halftime, there will be at least 10 threads started about the officiating, that is something all of us can count on.

Good advice. Other than finding info about what time the players will be flying into Lexington and the reception at Rupp... there probably won't be very many positives to the post board experience.

But I expect it'll be a pretty good day!

If we happen to come up short, I'm avoiding this board for at least a month.

Seriously.

The "play zone" crowd will show up.
The "four year guys only" crowd will show up.
The "_________ coach wouldve won" crowd will appear.

It will be so ugly, I don't wanna see it.

Might as well win the damn thing.

If we lose I am sure I will go through a long period of sorrow like I did after the 92 Duke loss. I will not vent, but, it will sure be difficult to deal with.

A) I can't imagine a scenario that doesn't involve the Cats winning #9. About as overwhelming favorite I've ever seen in any MEN'S sport going into the postseason.

B) If...BIG IF...the season doesn't end cutting down the nets...this board will melt down faster than butter in a microwave. We all know that will happen. (Although, it might be effected, somewhat, based on when/who that loss comes to...and, who ends up being the ultimate champion....i.e. if Duke wins it all, the meltdown would be amplified). And, it would also be effected by who is still playing at that time...meaning certain teams in Red and Black or different shades of blue.

C) Why are we even discussing this because the chances of this season not ending with another banner are slim and none...and slim is quickly exiting the building.

I remember it well. I didn't even really post last season because coming here was more an exercise in "what is the most ridiculous thing I can find to read today?" than looking for actual discussion on our team. It was actually pretty hilarious and entertaining to witness the meltdowns... and you saw touches of it this season in our overtime games and the game against Columbia.

I don't meltdown over a loss and I can only make a promise for myself . If you're only living for a title then you're not living at all but to each his own . If we lose I am not even going to be on this board , would be a waste of time .

Rationality can be a bit of a hot commodity on this board during games. If we were to lose I'd expect nothing less than a meltdown. There are posters who only come out after a loss. Whether or not they are actually UK fans, I don't know, but they always come out when things don't go our way. People like to complain, let's just hope it doesn't happen.

It will feel alot like the UAB loss we had in the 2nd round in 03 as the favorite. That game destroyed me. There's no way in hell we had any business losing to that team. I little piece of my heart died that night and it would probably be the same if it happened this year.

I will be hugely disappointed, but I've been watching the Final Four for 50 years and I have seen the best team get beat many times.
