he stands there like a tree when the ball is shot....doesn't look to put his big body on anyone to keep them off the boards. He reminds me of a 4th grade kid on the playground who doesn't know any different. Oh, that takes effort.....forgive me for asking.

I am a big basketball guy and even played a little college ball. With that been said his deffence fundimentals are some of the worst I have seen for a guy with his talent. Which to me means he just doesnt like playing deffence (lazy), because if he wanted to play deffence he could be a beast. Everyone wants to be a star on offence but a great basketball player plays deffence.

In his "deffence", he is playing a whole lot of zone which makes it a little more difficult to block out someone every time as there are no clear cut assignments, but he should be doing more than he is. Hopefully it will come with time. Kodi is the only person keeping us from getting absolutely killed on the boards right now.

First sorry I didn't spell check asses! I wish I had enough time that all I did is correct others mistakes on a message boards! Second your clear cut assignment is to turn and find someone but a body on him and keep him from getting around you. That is a zone assignment and that is what he has not done. Just because you know who your man is in a man to man scheme doesn't mean you can't pick someone up when the ball leaves the shooters hand in a zone.

it is exactly as you said....in a zone you find a guy to put your body on and keep him from the rebounding area. You certainly do not watch the shot then turn around and look up at the goal like he has done every time I have watched him. I have said there is no worry to Sidney getting in foul trouble because he does not play defense hard and often enough to foul! Just wait till we play GA. Sidney will be schooled by their inside play.
