What a catch for the University of Akron!

It hired as its baseball coach 1988 National League Rookie of the Year and three-time National League All-Star Chris Sabo, on the 1999 Cincinnati Reds world champions.

This at a school that dropped baseball in 2015 but will resume the sport for the academic year 2019-20!

Maybe Sabo can do as well in Akron as former Mountaineer Terry Bowden, Bobby’s son.

Terry is Akron’s football coach. Before Terry, Akron had two consecutive one-win seasons. With Terry, the Zips have won 5 to 8 games for 5 consecutive seasons. That hasn’t happened before at Akron in records that go back to 1975

What has Terry done other than Turn Akron into a .500 team most seasons. I am sure the restaurant business has increased 100 percent since he became coach.

He's 34-47 (22-29) He's had 1 winning season (8-5) since being at Akron. Perhaps he has another one this year. Currently 3-3.

Previous coaches
30-42 > Brookhart (2004-09)
40-61 > Owens (1985-2003)
43-53-3 > Faust (1986-2004)
80-62-2 > Jim Dennison (1973-1985)

the one exception of ugliness
2-22 Lanello (2010-11)

Your boy Terry has not done anything different than the previous 4 coaches before Lanello. Quit trying to advertise your boy toy.
