Loving it.Meanwhile PJ and Herro are opening cans of whoop-***.
Didnt he have a good puting the previous game? Could be wrong.
Dook was greedy. Took three elite forwards, espn presented the squad as some kind of team of destiny and they flamed out again because they weren’t that amazing. He seemed like s good kid. Duke screwed him. Pushed Zion and Barrett and left him out.
It is just one game, but this is extremely true. People can say that Cal recruited star players that are NBA ready, but danged if Wall, Davis, KAT etc. didn’t come into the league fighting their tails off. They get worked instead of coddled and they were ready to contribute from day one. Most Duke guys walk away from there feeling entitled and overconfident. Unless they learned some discipline and humility before they arrived, they will likely struggle early on in the NBA.
He picked up 7 boards, had an assist and a steal and a +11 which was tied for 3rd on the team. I didn't see the game, but if he did those things and played good defense then he had a better night than people are giving him credit for. Let's not forget it was his first game as well. Not everyone has a great first game.
I do..they could have been cats..These kids aren't at Duke anymore. I don't root against them or take pleasure in seeing them struggle. Except Grayson Allen.
Duke zaps your testosterone.
I love Cam but the take on him, even before arriving at Duke was that he disappeared from the scoring sheet at times. There will be games when Cam knocks down the 5 or so missed threes he took and there will be times he doesn’t. Inconsistent. But yea I get it, Duke’s fault when guys play poorly (Cam) but when they play well, it’s they played well in spite of Duke (RJ).
No, the narrative is that when UK guys do well, it's because they were NBA ready when they got there, not because of development. "Any of the top 5 kids can go anywhere and be NBA ready". That's just not true.
Also, I can guarantee you one thing...if Zion had gone to UK he wouldn't have weighed 290 lbs at season's end.
I think it’s been far and away proven for quite some time now that Cal does a good job developing guys. Remember when Kyrie Irving got hurt at Duke? When he came back he too was noticeably bigger upon his return. Zion got hurt, maybe just maybe he too was bigger than he had been most of the season for the same obvious reasons? Or you think Duke doesn’t have a conditioning program at all? That K just has then come in and play around ?
Mmmmmmm, pudding. [banana]Proof is in the pudding.

I have said it for a long time there is not a better coach at getting alpha type players to play together than Cal . The Rat Faced Bastard at Dook failed miserably at that the last two years with the so called greatest classes of all time . Why do you think NBA people say Kentucky kids are better prepared when they get to the NBA .He seemed like s good kid. Duke screwed him. Pushed Zion and Barrett and left him out.
Listen, Cal is a great coach. UK is a great program with a lot of players who have gone on to the next level and don’t well and some, not so well. I get it, let’s always compare to one up each other. But at the end of the day, i think we can admit that it’s really not necessary to tear one down to prop the other up. BOTH programs stand on their own merits and accomplishments regardless of what the other does. UK can’t get all the best players and neither can Duke. UK can’t always win the National Title abs neither can Duke. UK can’t always have a player go and do well and neither can Duke. I wish everyone would just be happy with their own program’s success and be content with it.
Ha! Duke blu, I have made an observation of Duke's one and done guys. They are given a much more liberal rein than the guys who are considered multi-year guys. Now, years ago, Coach K wouldn't have let guys get by with it. I really think that K has given up some of his principles since he began focusing on the one and done guys, just with those players. Part of that is that he just lets them do their thing. So, discipline and humility are not happening. That is my observation and Cam is an example. As I say, unless they had it before they got there, they don't find it there.Listen, Cal is a great coach. I don’t know what K does in his strength and conditioning program. What I do know is that virtually everybody was saying he couldn’t play at that weight in the NBA. Whether it was diet or workouts, I can’t tell you. All I know is he didn’t get into great shape. As far as UKs S/C, take a look at Ashton Hagans and Nate Sestina and their before/after pictures. Proof is in the pudding.
Shiteshefski and Cal have two totally different approaches to these kids.Duke has an elite conditioning program just like UK. Duke even has a personal chief for the team and a nutrition plan for each player. They receive these nutrition plans before they ever arrive on campus.
Zion weight was probably closer to 275 while he was playing at Duke. It naturally went up after he left campus and was away from basketball activities going around collecying his hardware at every reward show there was. The kid was defientlu eating good and living his best life as he deserved.
Conditioning isn't the problem for kids at Duke or UK. Cams problem is in his own head and has been since high school. But the kid is still a great defender and it showz if you actually watch his games. He often locks up the other teams best players. If you just look at his stats you see a bad game.
Duke also puts out befire and after photos of their players after camp. They often look rather different but alot of that stuff is photo shopped as is the same for UK.
Reddish like other ex Dukies will probably never be a quality NBA player. But he can flop with the best of them.Remember Cam Reddish?
