I think they should change the point system for FGs. Beyond 60 maybe 4 points. Or if they can hit one of the bars and it goes in, make that four points. Add some complexity and intrigue

Yes, 2 points for a short FG say snapped from the 15 to the 1 yard line might make more coaches go for it on 4th down which brings more excitement than a chip shot.
