Every freshman that comes in adjust to the college game differently. He just may not be quite ready yet and couple that with the fact that the safety position is considerably deeper now than it was earlier this year. I believe he's been battling the injury bug some too.
Some rumors floating around Lincoln that he was possibly looking at leaving the team. I guess we will find out this week if he is on the sidelines for Saturday's game.
but but but....I thought the new mantra was "if he don't want to compete, don't let the door hit him in the *** on the way out"
Now that would be news to me. I haven’t seen one thing about Cam Jones possibly unhappy and possibly leaving. He’s a safety and we are loaded at safety with a bunch of senior and juniors ahead of him. He will have his shot but not till next year or two...I’m sure he knew this before he got here. He’s seen the roster and seen the experience and how well safety has been player wise.
That's the way it should be. I fully agree with that statement. If you don't want to compete and think a position is gifted GTFO. You aren't going to hit on everyone in recruiting.
Agreed but before we start rumors flying about Cam Jones (not saying you guys are or meaning to) let’s assume everything is fine and he’s just waiting his turn in a loaded safety position. I haven’t seen or heard one thing about him being unhappy (only this poster above is the first on that one).
I hope he just puts his head down and works hard. Reed, Williams, and Neal are all gone next year. Yes there is still talent, but he will have opportunities if he can get his mind around D1 football.
