Lol. Yes. Cal took credit for stopping all ball screens to stay away from the traps. Lol.
Not a single ball screen or any other screen in the second half.

Cal still doesn't have a clue how to attack a zone defense. We were pathetic against the trapping zone.
been saying this since the WVU loss n the ncaa tourney his 1st year & nothing has changed

The issue was Wheeler was playing the fool against a trap he should have been able to figure out as a solid PG. You have to pass the ball to the open man when they both come at you and be aggressive and push the tempo. That is one reason it was a rock fight because Wheeler couldn't push the tempo and kept making stupid turnovers.

Cal definitely made adjustments in the second half and put the right people in the positions to help win the game. The rims at A&M clearly sucked last night as neither team could buy a 3 for the most part and fortunately we shot better from the FT line than they did. I am not going to apologize about that and say that is why we won as the ND & LSU games we shot terrible and no one on here was giving UK a pass despite that (nor should they).

So no credit for the changes he made in the 2nd half that won us the game?
He didn’t make changes, he literally sat on the sidelines hoping Wheeler would remember the right way to dribble out of a double team, Cal said so himself at the post game presser.

The difference in the second half was that our players played tighter defense because foul trouble wasn’t as much of an issue, in the first half they had to play matador defense because every bit of ticky tack contact was being called.

What were those changes? Finally benched Brooks, went with TyTy at the point until Grady got hurt. Not being a jerk I’m serious, what else?
Them Jacking bricks from 3 helped a lot.
A lot of those jacked up threes were contested. Give Cal and players credit for making that a priority and shutting down the conferences best three pt shooting team.

So in your opinion were ours contested too? Is that why we shot awful or did we just miss?
Seems like I saw a lot of open misses on both sides.

Most of our were open. They just didn’t fall.

1/22 is usually the effect of the other teams defense.

Most of Grady’s misses were pretty open. Just didn’t fall.

I think Grady is still struggling with the transition of learning to get his shot off quickly. I know that has been something Cal has emphasized to him.
The problem is he’s taking shots from a dead run sometimes. It seems like all of our shooters are in such a rush to to get that quick release that it effects them. I think that is a lot of Allen’s issue this year. There are a lot of times you need that quick release, but I see them rushing shots when they don’t have to.
It’s a lot like our guys on defense in such a frenzy to block shots they bite on the fake. Or have three guys flying at the shooter leaving the offensive glass unoccupied. And I’m talking about shots in the paint mainly.

He always, never mind some of you guys are going to hate him if he wins the next 5 titles! Go on with your miserable, pathetic life
Lol. Calm down dude. Cal doesn't know and really doesn't even care that you are running all over the place defending him.

First of all CAL said he did a terrible job preparing and coaching the team for the trap defense.

Second of all, I have a wonderful life. I don't live and die with evey UK game and crap my pants every time Cal trolls his ignorant fan boys.

Third, the sooner you realize Cal trolls the UK fans worse than any poster on this site, the better your life will be.

Cal knows what he is doing and so do some of the people who post on here.

Get over yourself. You sound like Ellen taking up for your man Cal.

😂 Until he leaves UK he is out Coach and I support him. I don't agree w every decision he makes, but I'm not getting paid 9mil a year to make them FYI- He did adjust, which is what coaches do and he doesn't give a FF about mine or your opinion of him

Could you tell me what other adjustments he made?

Here is what I posted earlier in the thread. They were there, some chose to ignore them
No changes?

He didn't break one of his long held rules to not play Tyty with 2 fouls late in the first to cut it 5???

He didn't change the offense to get away from the traps???

He didn't play Toppin over his starter Brooks for most of the second half?

He didn't change the offensive flow late in the second to focus more towards Mintz instead of Grady who was off?

He didn't have Tyty take over primary ball handling when Wheeler went of the rails? Also had them pass before crossing half court?

Didn't move the 4 spot from the spot up jumpers to the baselines for some open looks and dunks? May have been because Toppin was playing more instead of Brooks?

Cal doesn't make huge changes in a game, no coach does. But he makes subtle one likes the ones listed above that effect the outcomes of games and helped us win this one.

I am convinced some people just love to complain. We got mugged all night, best shooter was WAY off, PG lost his mind and still WON THE GAME!!!
