Believe me, watching this team is brutal and I want to scream at the tv...but with coach cals system you are gonna have years like this every now and then. I can accept that.....what still keeps it fun is that we have seen he can still take teams like this deep into tourney.

What's gonna be interesting is who comes back. I just don't see lee, Bristol, Luis or skal leaving this year. Murray will be the only one to go in my opinion. Will make for very interesting minute decisions next year

We just are terrible on the road this year. I'm not expecting a national championship this year, but I do hope they find it in them to put forth a better effort more consistently. Tonight they just quit. Played like they didn't want to be there.
We are probably going to lose 4 or 5 SEC games and will wind up with a 4 or 5 seed in the tourney. That's my expectation this year.

This is 2 times in 4 years they are bubble teams looking squarely at the nit. I'm sorry, but that's not ******* acceptable at kentucky.

LMFAO, calm down? Seriously? We have an epic team last year that, like the epic team we had in 2010, lost and everybody leaves and we have to watch this total lack of effort and heart? This is the program we wait all year to watch and this is embarrassing. We have every right to be pissed off.
I never thought I would be this dissapointed in this team this year. What a poor coaching job. Piss poor.

There comes a point when this **** has to stop. How do you lose with the team we had in 2010? How about last year? At some point someone has to own that chit, Cal is not doing something correct.

Try 8 seed.. This team won't be in the top 25 next week and if they are, the AP & coaches poll are both full of ****..

I agree with previous poster, that not winning the title last year, makes this even harder to take. If we had gone undefeated last year and won it all, I was good for the rest of my life. But we had one of the historically great teams, and just let something special slip away. I guess I was silently hoping that this years team would over achieve, and redeem that loss in the FF to Wisc.

I just don't know. Calipari is the best recruiter out there and top 5 coach. The last 6 years have been amazing. But for me personally, national championships mean a lot. Only getting 1 in those 6 years seems to be disappointing.

What did we expect? I thought we'd have some good guards this year (Briscoe is disappointing) but I never had confidence that Poythress, Lee and Willis we're going to become great players. Skal is the biggest disappointment, let's face it, he's awful. I thought Skal would carry the front court and Lee/Poythress would be fillers - turns out, they are fillers and Skal is lousy.

I keep waiting for a breakthrough but I just don't see it happening. I really don't think this team will go deep into the tournament this year. My expectations have dropped severely and I'm pretty bummed by what I'm seeing on the court. Cal, in my opinion, has also done a bad job of coaching this group this year. I just can't defend him or the players this season. I'll say by them and keep pulling for them and hope they prove me wrong but I just don't see anything much happening this year.

My God you are whistling a different tune that a few weeks ago. Cal is a HOF coach! How can he be doing piss-poor coaching? He's a Hall of Famer for goodness sake!

It's kind of hard to win when refs were literally giving the team points by allowing Wisconsin to score on two illegal plays. Call the shot clock violation and there's your ball game.

Not sure the bubble will come into play but it's going to be close. This is a 7-8 loss conference team which gives us 10-11 on the year going into the SECT. The fact this team was ever ranked #1 shows the idiocy of the rankings. This is a 7 seed team possibly 8-9 but unlike 2013 we don't have the horses to make a run like that. This team will be lucky to get out of the first weekend.

Wish we would ditch this dribble drive crap and install a damn offense. Too many turnovers driving into a crowded paint with nowhere to go.

This stuff doesn't happen to top programs like UNC/Duke/KU/Mich St/ hell this crap wouldn't fly down the road. Rick would NEVER have a team this soft.

I think we have the best recruiter in the country and I love Cal. But I hate him getting out coached in almost every road game. He can't coach for **** at times.

His players are so soft I'm sick of looking at them.

Look it up in the US Constitution...
Article 8 I believe.

But we don't have any shooters. Cal relies on having superior athletes to over power their opponent in the dribble drive. When you run into athletes of equal ability then you have to make shots. Ah-oh, we don't have any shooters.

I feel it is wasting time to watch this team. I will be back to watch after NCAA tournament. I am sure we can make it.

Mine are a bit less. I honestly think this team could lose every road game in the SEC, especially if they continue to play like they did at UCLA and LSU, and on a neutral court to Ohio St. The Duke win was fools' gold. They're down as well. We could very well be NIT bound for the 2nd time in 4 years. Which is why some of us were so frustrated to make 4 Final 4's and only come away with one title. Those opportunities just don't come that often. Certainly not this season. Play like they did tonight and it'll be OAD alright. In the NIT. It's pretty clear our two most highly rated recruits are not what was thought. People got all excited because Murray did well in a all-star game, and in a tournament where defense isn't emphasized. Now against real D he just drives in the lane and loses it half the time. And Skal? What left's to say? Go pro young men! I do hope Briscoe, Matthews, and Mulder return.

Contrast this game tonight against the one a lot of us watched last night, OU/KU. That was basketball. This was misery.

And OP I'm perfectly calm. I'm just not going to lie to myself.

Wow, some real winners in this thread. Makes me almost want to screen cap some of these posts to save for later in the season for when Cal makes yet another deep tournament run, as he done for what 8 or 9 of his last 10 seasons?

Why are you here? The rest of us are invested in UK basketball and are a bit stunned by the lack of heart this team just put on the floor for the 3rd time this year. After a shocking loss last year where a team with unbelievable talent fell short again.
Maybe this board isn't for you tonight.

We looked like crap, and all the people who hate Cal and all the rival fans with accounts are out for blood. Reasonable discussion is going to have to wait.

Who knows? Maybe they are right, and we totally suck, but I think it is more likely that this is just a young team that hasn't quite figured out how hard they need to play every game yet.

Anyway, that discussion will have to wait until the bloodbath ends. Give it a couple of days and try again.

This will be controversial and I'm sure I'll get slammed for it but here goes...
Cal is great with superior talent but, not so much with average players. He may never win another championship. It took him having a freak, once in a lifetime player in A. Davis to get the one title he has. I no longer believe he is a good motivator and something has happened with his player evaluation.
Cal is an amazing recruiter but, he has totally miscalculated the talent of the players on this squad. They are a poor combination and he doesn't seem to have what it takes to properly motivate them. Have we ever seen a Cal coached team quit like this one did late in the game tonight? Very hard to take.
