Our talent level is at an ebb (maybe just past the bottom at the beginning of the upside of the curve).
Our current team would have their asses handed to them in the Big East of 10 years ago too. Our 2006-2012 teams would beat this current squad by 4-5 touchdowns. We just are not very good.
Gotta give Ash the time to make it better.
If we are lucky we will get to a place where we win 6-10 games a year. With 6 being much more common than 10.

I think this is the plan when Lewis is ready. When Kill talking to him about his verbal commitment, he said he wanted to use him like Jordan Lynch was used at NIU. I sure hope so. He'd be lethal in that offense.

There's a difference here. Lynch redshirted in 2009. Then was used sparingly for 2 years as a backup QB in 2010 and 2011. NIU was a MAC power already, going 11-3 in 2010 and 2011. So there was a system. They also played in the MAC, and played only Iowa in 2012 and Iowa and Purdue in 2012 and 2013.

Don't mean to throw cold water on hope, but the situations were night and day.

I wonder how they became a MAC power and that system was put in place before he started. Hmmmm ...

Yes, but it was still the MAC, and Jerry Kill is not the head coach at Rutgers.
Not trying to be a downer, but there are too many variables to hope/wish/fantasize that we have the next Jordan Lynch on our hands.
