Ok I see it now. But typing Scott Frost would have been just as effective as being a jerk. I guess the question should have been who meets all of your criteria? Not just bringing the fan base together. Can you not read?

If I (or anybody) knew what Ronnie is going to do to "bring back the 90s" I would be a rich man.Ok I see it now. But typing Scott Frost would have been just as effective as being a jerk. I guess the question should have been who meets all of your criteria? Not just bringing the fan base together.
I agree with you on that. But my question was about your criteria for the next HC. You said you want Frost because he will unite the fan base. Who checks all the boxes for you?If I (or anybody) knew what Ronnie is going to do to "bring back the 90s" I would be a rich man.
Scott Frost. That is all that needs to be said. It can't be anyone else at this point for Nebraska, because they will not be given a chance.I agree with you on that. I get that some fans think the past is not something we should not emulate. What I do not get is why? we were successful in the past and when we strayed from our identity we have really struggled. Frost is really the only strong coaching candidate that has emerged with NU ties since Solich. I think it is very reasonable for fans to want him. We have heard on this board for some time that we cannot compete for top quality coaching candidates because of our recruiting challenges, now we have a one we can compete for because of his NU ties and some fans dont want him - very curiousIf I (or anybody) knew what Ronnie is going to do to "bring back the 90s" I would be a rich man.

I could see Florida offering a huge deal to Bob Stoops. That might be tempting to him, but who knows if he would seriously consider it.I want Scott Frost strongly considered....but I also want other candidates interviewed. I don't know if it is going to happen that way. The way things might play out may be a situation where NU will have to move quickly if they want Frost when the season ends.
Let's say that NU DOES NOT get Frost. 4.6.3 is right in the fact that many in our fan base will go into total meltdown mode and never give the next guy a chance.....especially if Frost goes elsewhere and kills it.
So, here is my educated guess:
1) Scott Frost to NU
2) Dan Mullen to Flodida
3) Chip Kelly to UCLA
4) Bobby Petrino to Tennessee.
Im not sure if Frost would survive 2 losing seasons in 3 years either. When you add in how inept NU looks on both sides of the ball its even worse.Scott Frost. That is all that needs to be said. It can't be anyone else at this point for Nebraska, because they will not be given a chance.
I will give the next guy a chance. Just like MR and Bo...... but if Frost goes elsewhere and has success I think the meltdown ppl have a pretty good argument.I want Scott Frost strongly considered....but I also want other candidates interviewed. I have been saying this ever since the discussion about if Riley was fired started. Nebraska fans have backed themselves into a corner now where if it is anyone but Frost, I feel bad for them. The first loss they take the fans will be all over the team and the administration for not hiring Frost. It's sad really, if he's the best candidate than great, if not get the guy here that can get us back to be a respectable contender for the Big Ten West year in and year out and a conference title as well. This is all IF we let Riley go.Scott Frost. That is all that needs to be said. It can't be anyone else at this point for Nebraska, because they will not be given a chance.
Great young coach, that could definitely land a big job. I think he would be a great fit at Nebraska. He would also make sense at Arkansas, but between his huge buyout and Bielma’s huge buyout, that doesn’t seem realistic. What about Campbell from Iowa St?
Well, except a coach inheriting a program with one winning season in three ( just guessing) should logically get more slack then a coach inheriting a program that averaged more than nine wins.He has stated a few times he is ok with the Frost hire if it happens. His shot is against those fans that say they will allow some losses and even losing seasons because Scott is a Nebraska guy. And that's where we agree.....can't complain about Riley now and not Frost later if things go south just because he's a Nebraska kid. The program has to come first no matter who the coach is and if we accept mediocrity (yep I said it lol) then lets just get rid of football all together and get more parking for the university.
If any coach has the same results as this season next year or any year it is unacceptable. He has stated a few times he is ok with the Frost hire if it happens. Interesting thread to revisit a month later. I was off on Ole Miss and who knows what will happen in UT. Plus Some new openings,Since coaching change talk is rampant and it looks like several high profile jobs might be opening up I thought it might be entertaining to predict how the dust settles. If nothing else, it might be fun to look back on in a couple months.
Florida: Dan Mullen
Tennessee: Bobby Petrino
Ole Miss: Lane Kiffen
UCLA: Chip Kelly
Nebraska: Scott Frost
Any others? Possibly aTm, Arkansas or Mizzou?
